Formed in the late nineties by two Liverpool students, Dolphic Music has grown from a small mail order company into a million pound business with a couple of retail outlets and a mammoth internet business. Whilst the company’s Liverpool shop primarily sells new and collectable guitars, the website sells everything from pianos, synthesisers, drums and microphones to an incredible range of percussion from around the world. I haven’t bothered counting how many products are on their website but apparently they stock upto 10,000 different ones in their warehouse. Amazingly, all orders are sent out the same day and their customer service seems impeccable. What distinguishes Dolphic from other online instrument companies is their attention to detail. Alongside standard and specialist soundproofting, hardware and recording equipment, they also sell custom-made vocal booths. I haven’t seen any pictorial evidence but am led to believe Lady Gaga recently took one on tour with her so she could do vocal warm-ups and demo recordings. In keeping with her style, it was a Custom Gold series booth with a purple, polyfoam fabric-wrapped interior! Lady Gaga at The Brits:
