Delicious. Just the type of hole-in-the-wall joint that you want when looking for a good, no-nonsense sandwich(or other deli fare). You can tell it’s a good establishment when everyone else there can be considered a usual and the staff have their orders memorized. Lots of choices, and some good daily specials on offer. I got the steak sandwich special(came with a soda) for about £3.5. I have a hard time imagining a better meal for the wet, gloomy days that are the majority of Liverpool’s year. Their bread, soups, meats, and sides are all fresh, and everything you order comes with a friendly smile.

LOVE this place. I’m quite a fussy eater and find it difficult to find places for a quick lunch, so much so I tend to just wait until I get home, by which time I am exhausted and starving having shopped the legs off myself. Richmond’s is perfect because they create a personalised meal catering for each individual and there’s nowhere else like it in town. I suppose Subway offer something similar but the variety and quality is nowhere near as good; Richmonds is delicious, it’s all so fresh and tasty. There’s sticky ribs, hot barms, succulent sausages, jacket spuds and soup, all manner of cold meats; my penchant(given the healthy diet) is the pre cooked, pre packaged chicken piece variety; it’s served cold but can be re-heated, there’s no sauce or anything just tasty chicken, perfect! It’s a very popular deli and as has been said, the queues can be off-putting but the staff work fast and you’ll be out the door and tucking in in no time.

Sandwiches galore, deli delight, food on the go Richmond deli is a great alternative for mobile busy bee people. Here in UK we love delis and for good reason. Eating for us is is merely about refueling or charging the batteries. You get hungry you scoff your faces with as much as possible as quickly as possible until you’re full and the on we go with our other monotonous chores. Around Europe this isn’t the case. People stop sit down and really enjoy every bite and savor it. I’m not putting people into pigeon holes here but merely pointing out a cultural mentality difference. Thus the Deli is a good investment as a business in the UK. People popping in for a quick lunch sandwich, that’s the trade. Richmond have done well to clock onto this fact. The sandwiches are fantastic here and there is a good variety of them too. In fact there is enough variety here that I’m not going to do what I normally do which is give a recommendation, just go check it out yourself and take my word for it that you will find something, a barm, a panini, a baguette or something else.

Big. Big butties. Big potatoes. Just big pieces of meat and non of this namby pamby modern lark just big food so get it down yer neck! If that could be a motto or brand slogan for a deli — sorry butty shop! — then that might be a good one for Clarke’s. It seems to denegrate them some what but this succint description of a fine sandwich emporium is meant entirely in the best possible way. There seems to be little mucking about with things like rocket — which I hate, it is horrible no matter how many chefs and foodies use it these days, it’s a weed! — Clarke’s serve good, some might say traditional sandwiches, in a straightforward manner like roast beef, ham — just ham nowt fancy done to it — and various chickens — coronation and tikka basically — and all at very cheap prices — usually below £3 — for a good size butty.

Clarke’s Richmond Deli is a really decent sandwich and salad take-away. They sell a wide range of different sandwiches from standard barms, panini’s to baguettes. Their menu’s offer delicious combinations of fillings so there is usually something that suits everyone’s taste. The food is all of a healthy nature and even their burgers are great quality. I ordered a burger(freshly cooked in a couple of minutes) with raw onions and mayonnaise for just £2 which was served in a large plain white bun; that definitely filled me and I would go back again whenever I’m in need of a convenient lunch. Since they boast such a wide variety of ingredients such as various pre-cooked meats, sliced salads and other condiments, the choice is really yours. In addition, they sell jacket potatoes which sound mouth-watering and tempting(especially on a cold day)! Clarke’s Richmond Deli is much better than your average sandwich bar. Plus, the lovely aromas that are emitted make you want to go even more.

If you’re after one of the biggest sandwiches in Liverpool, come to the Richmond Deli. They serve a huge variety of yummy foods, from sandwiches to paninis, to all sorts of jars and packets of weird and wonderful food that you can find in delis. I ordered the chicken, cheese and sweet chilli Panini which was delicious — it was built in front of me and only took a few minutes from ordering to having it thrust in my hands. The queues are often really long which means they need a quick turnaround and they are surprisingly quick so don’t be put off if you’re looking for something to grab while you’re out and about and you see the queue coming out of the door. Whilst waiting for my food to be cooked up, I must have seen the biggest bap in the world being put together. It looked like a combination of beef, onions, mushrooms and peppers — it could have easily fed a family! If you are going to buy a bap, and you’ve not got the appetite of an ogre, I suggest sharing one between two at least. The prices aren’t half bad either, considering the quality, my Panini came to £3 and I saw that a cheese on toast was £1.40.
