Sugacane

So much variety of different sweets at Sugacane. From soft to hard, sweet to sour, chocolate to candies and pick n mixes, this place has it all. Price seems fair but only if you manage to resist the temptation of taking a bit of this and that. Worth a visit even if you aren’t interested in sweets.

Called in to get some pick and mix. Good price, I paid £1.10 they have counters front and back so you dont have the wait long, good service as ever. The shop is located at the bottom of Bold Street near the pedestrian cross with Hanover Street opposite the old post office. It is a bigger version of the Shop in Chester.

This shop is like something from a dream. Its such a cute shop with every type of sweet you could ever hope for on display. They have all my favourites; aniseed balls, sour apples, liquorice rock sticks and parma violets. Everything is just divine, there’s no other word for it.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The store is tidy and very well organised. You really could spend a fortune in here without realising till it was too late.
Thank goodness for the sugar free sweets!

Filled, and I mean, absolutely jam-​flying-​saucer-​packed, with everything a confectionary addict could ever dream of!
Sherbet, chocolates, fudge, a million different varieties of nut, violet creams, gummy bears, midget gems… it’s like something Willy Wonka himself created.
Staff are efficient and helpful. The store has a neat layout so it’s quite easy to find what you desire.
Great to head too if you’re en-​route to the cinema.
My only issue is the place was crowded, so I couldn’t reach over to the strawberry laces. Annoying.

If you want to plough a juggernaut of sugar right into your bloodstream then I can recommend no shop higher than Sugacane on Bold Street, a place I still view as one of my hallucinations.
Any sweet shop can pack little plastic boxes with pick ‘n’ mix and tell you to get on with it but only somewhere that truly cares can install numerous counters around the floorspace. Here’s the place you buy ice-​cream. Over there is where you hoard cake. This counter here is filled with fudge henges of various flavours, just because we can.
Sugacane is the kind of shop whose manager I want to contact in the dead of night. We’ll meet below an overpass. He’ll hand me the keys to the store. «Just give me an hour,» I’ll say. He’ll nod and wait.

Sugar Cane is Liverpool city centres newest and biggest sweet shop! It’s every kid (and adult with an incredibly sweet tooth’s) dream!
They have the biggest selection of pick and mix that I have ever seen, it even puts Woolworths to shame. Aside from that, Sugar Cane stocks sticks of rock in almost every flavour imaginable, ice cream in a host of crazy flavours and a wide variety of packaged sweets and chocolate.
They also serve take out coffee and a range of luxury chocolates to compliment your caffeine hit.
Beware, it’s quite pricey for a sweet shop, but I guess you need to be to make a profit when almost every shop stocks confectionary. They have some old and new favourites in their pick and mix selection, including Dandelion and Burdock Pips and about 10 other varieties. They also have traditional s such as Kola Cubes and Rhubarb and Custards!
I’m getting Denplan before I go back in there with more than a fiver on me!

Sugarcane is the UK’s fastest growing sweet shop franchise and it is easy to see why, because it fully deserves to be up there with the best sweet shops around.
This new branch which has recently opened in Bold Street sells an enormous selection of sweets that come in all shapes and sizes. Some of the more classic sweets I came across reminded me of when I was young, such as the chewy lollipop bars and Love Hearts (with the cute messages on them)! As well as that, there are toffees, boiled sweets, sherbet and even an ice cream counter at the rear of the shop. The list goes on… and the smell of candy is just heavenly!
If you don’t have such a sweet tooth, they do have a sugar free variety to help you avoid the dreaded dentist drill! My favourite part has to be the pick ‘n’ mix section as it makes me feel like a young kid again!
Sugarcane definitely has the appeal factor about it. Walk past here and you’ll find it hard to ignore, especially if you’re with children. Be sure for a sweet experience!
