If you are part of the LGBT community, or just want a great night then this is the place for you. Who doesn’t love a Drag Queen DJ, playing all your favourite hits? The drinks are cheap and the bar staff are friendly.

The 6ft drag queens(7ft in heels) herded round the door give away both the location of this place and the fact that it’s a gay club. You tend not get them in working men’s social clubs. I’ve checked. Descending the stairs into this basement club you find yourself on a smoky dancefloor with a generic, thumping beat pumping directly into your auditory nerve that does little to differentiate it from the other dozen or so similar places that fill up chunks of brick in the area. Personally, I wasn’t too impressed but if you’re a fan of this type of hotspot then you’ll most likely have a great night. And with that sentence I’ve completely eradicated the point of reviewing. I’m so fired.

Yep, the name is indeed a dead giveaway here. Superstar Boudoir is unashamed in its reverence towards celebs, and weirdly enough you will see them hanging out here. It’s mainly soapy types you’ll find(bear in mind Hollyoaks is filmed in Liverpool), but members of pop groups have also been known to swing by. Unashamed, brash, over the top, it’s all right in front of you even before you’ve walked in the door. Drag artists attempt to entice you in, and once you’ve passed the threshold you can stay until the wee small hours and dance your little socks off. It’s situated in the Gay Quarter so is known colloquially as a gay bar but everyone’s welcome. It’s perhaps the most upmarket one of the lot with a lounge area alongside the dancefloor where you can chill with a very high class cocktail, and as a result it does attract a more discerning type of clientele. And of course famous types. Be sure to take your camera phone, you could wind up being the most popular person on YouTube.
