I went an ordered a take away for two people from the taj mahal south road waterloo and it was appalling I can go to Iceland and get better, the only thing that I had changed from the set meal was I wanted keema nan instead of the normal nan bread, there was no keema in the nan and no meat of any description just a red dye so its just a rip off. on a 1 to 10 scale I would rate this place as 1 as the food was just plain bland tasteless and the sauces watery, I have cooked better at home. Sorry taj mahal but being a brummie I do know Indian food and this is a very poor example of it.

Waterloo! Well, who can hear that word without thinking of Napoleon or wanting to shout out an Abba lyric. Here in Liverpool’s back and beyond(well, not really, but it’s not the centre so there we go, it’s an entire 22 postcodes away) you can get some rather good curries and a raucous atmosphere far more suited to Manchester’s Rusholme. Connoisseurs of the area tell me that this is the best Indian around their parts, and if I knew Waterloo better I’d heartily concur. It’s certainly good. The staff are exceptionally lovely and offer quick, efficient and polite service, the location’s nigh on perfect as it’s surrounded by bars and pubs(curry and alcohol are of course the quintessential bedfellows) and the prices are rather spiffing too. As well as this they have some of the nicest naan breads I’ve tasted in all my curry eating years. As for the main event, it’s really rather nice. If you get a chance to grab the tikka or tandoori clay oven stuff please do, as it’s rather delicious. And all the usual suspects beer-wise are on the menu as well; Ting Tao, Tiger, Cobra and the like. Waterloo probably doesn’t get enough of a shout out on Unilocal so at least if you’re in the area know that there’s a good curry hut round the corner!

This is without doubt the best Indian restaurant in Waterloo. With great service, friendly staff and awesome food, the Taj Mahal is definitely worth a visit. The establishment is situated in a handy location, in near proximity to the train station and all the local pubs and bars. They serve a variety of beers and chilled drinks, so whilst you’re sitting enjoying your delicious food you can enjoy a nice beverage. This place also has a great takeaway menu so if you don’t feel like leaving the comfort of your home you can always order in. Prices are extremely reasonable and the curries are always excellent. I can particularly recommend the chicken korma. Overall, a lovely establishment.

The best Indian in Waterloo or Crosby. Good service, polite and fairly quick. Can be a bit loud if you go late on a weekend night. Curries are excellent, especially after a cool beer!

Probably the best Indian in Waterloo, staff are always polite and very patient. Food does not take ages and they have the usual selection of imported beers, Cobra, Ting Tao, Tiger etc. They have a very nice Keema Nan if that is your thing and I can recommend the tandori and tikka meats wholeheartedly. I love curry after a beer so I would eat just about anything on the menu in here.
