Right. I’m giving this five stars because my inner child loves it! Not only am I a gift store geek but well, a bug themed one is the stuff of dreams. After perusing the bug-filled centre, stopping off here to get some accessories to remind you of the visit is an absolute must. From bug-topped pencils, to edible critters, and those cool bendy rulers, The Bug World Experience Gift Shop offers it all. I felt a little ashamed squealing like a child at all these fancies. Well, alright, I didn’t. I just embarrassed everyone with me. Definitely worth a visit when you’ve been to the bug centre!

I’m not a bug person, so I don’t really have any interest in going in the Bug World Experience, however I do love gift shops, so even a bug-themed gift shop cannot escape my eye. If you have little boys, or even men in your life who are little boys at heart, this is a really cool place to shop for Christmas or birthday gifts. They have everything bug related that you can imagine. Besides the obvious like ant hill starter kits and bug books and bug pencil toppers and toys, there are some really awesome bug finger puppets, noise-making plush toys, milk chocolate maggots and spiders(and other bugs and insects), and all number of other really cool buggy stuff. There are even some fair trade and all natural items so if you’re into saving ye olde earth, you can do that while shopping here too.

Unlike Megan in the previous review, I am into bugs although I don’t like touching them! I enjoy watching bugs in action and this is what you can get at Bug World Experience. In terms of the actual shop as you enter the centre, they sell anything and almost everything associated with bugs, so if you’re passionate about little critters like spiders, ants, crickets and scorpions, there are a wide range of memorabilia to remind you of your trip. This is an excellent place for children’s gifts and the slightly more daring, especially if you want to handle real bugs or even eat dead insects covered in a chocolate or curry taste. Why not try their bush tucker trial for £1?! They also encourage you to record and upload a video of you eating the bugs, before putting it onto facebook to see whose video is the most favourite of all! The gift shop is a fun place to browse, at least if you’re not actually going to see the exhibition.
