Grapes is an interesting place, in a good way. A range of clientele ranging from smack eds to hipsters and everything in between. It serves late, jazz on Sundays, landlords a legend. Do not touch the Buddha

Had one drink in here just to get in out of the rain. Wont be back as it seemed a bit on the rough side and the seating was badly torn up and the place was in dire need of decoration.

This is a pub with a nicely lit interior, demonstrating that a pretty set of lights is not just for Christmas. Nice atmosphere. Had a decent drink of Partners Pure Gold. Also available were beers from Liverpool Organic. Lots of lovely red hair behind the bar.

The Grapes is a fantastic pub for a different experience on a night out in Liverpool. It attracts a fairly trendy crowd of musicians, students and locals and has plenty of decent nights on offer for all to enjoy. A particularly popular night is the Sunday night live jazz band, which is becoming so popular you simply can’t move on some Sundays! It’s a pub where everybody’s friendly and welcoming, and a lot of people get up and dance when the live shows are on! They serve a range of draught beers and ales, a selection of house wines and a full bar of spirits. They don’t serve food, but they are so close to Hardman Street that if you wanted a snack at either a carry out or a restaurant, both are a five minute walk away from the pubs front door! I would definitely recommend this place for a pint on a Sunday night! They have a smoking area out back which has all sorts of ornate plants and sculptures and is a really nice place to chill!

With such an exciting atmosphere, I don’t know why I haven’t been here more often. After a gig in town we wandered the streets on Sunday looking for a place to continue our evening and stumbled upon the Grapes as trumpets and a jazzy samba rhythm filtered out into the night air. Yep, they have an awesome live band on every Sunday and it’s a pretty small pub so expect it to be crowded! They have a great little beer garden as well, which again is tiny but it’s a great little nook to spend a few hours in with your mates. One downside, however, is the construction site which has basically enveloped itself around the traditionally quirky charm of the pub, but this definitely doesn’t detract from the atmosphere once you get inside and listen to those jazzy blues!

The Grapes is the tpe of pub you can walk into and not know what might happen next, it still has that feel about it that anything can happen and that a little adventure could begin with the next trip to the bar. It is a ramshakle kind of place that attracts an odd sort of customer that, to me, typifies Liverpool — at once full of energy, haphazard and creative yet prone to bouts of moodiness and even aggression. On a good night, if it’s a full house — which does unfortunately seem to be getting rarer — The Grapes is the type of place that you could find anything going on in its small beer garden at the rear. A spot of spraypainting on the walls or an improptu gig with a man and his guitar any of which you will be welcome to have a go at yourself. In all, The Grapes has the feel of a house party that has been moved dow to the pub because they are the type of people who don’t know when enough is enough.

Ah, the good ol’ Grapes. What was probably once a shady tavern in the back streets of Chinatown is now a vibrant niche of bongo music and cacophonous laughter. There’s also the junk-cluttered yard outside that never fails to be ripe with the pungent smell of marijuana. Always full of raucous conversation, this place eases you into the act of replacing conversation with bellowing, an inevitability on nights out.

This is a fantastic little pub set just off Berry St. on the corner of Roscoe St. and Knight St. This is a very small pub with a Latin feel to the décor, and this feel in enhanced on a Sunday night when local people from the Jazz scene come and entertain regulars with some Latin Jazz. The bar stocks a fine range of gin and real ale, and all your usual pub stock. Well worth a visit.
