Why havn’t we been before? This great find was a faultless experience. A warm welcome by staff and a booster seat offered for our little one as well as crayons and paper to keep him occupied. Menu has plenty to choose from, definately something for everyone. Again, service was excellent and the food came out with no delay. When it arrived it was generously portioned and tasted great. My partner’s steak was cooked to perfection and the little one enjoyed his meal. Feeling greedy we ordered dessert. For the little one an extra effort was made with his ice cream in the form of a sparkler. Made us all smile. Again generous portions. Overall a great family expereince. Will be returning.

always a firm favourite when the kids get to choose! Reasonably priced, good varied menu of staple grills, steaks, pizza and pasta and separate children’s menu. The ribs are a favourite with our family. Staff are friendly, efficient and accommodating. Recently took my son for his birthday meal and they made a fuss, dimming the lights and bringing in his birthday cake I’d brought with me, even playing ‘happy birthday’ which made his day.

wait wait wait, this is where Liverpool goes for American food? There were only 3 «american» items in the«American» section! I got a burger, and my friend got a chicken kiev. and they brought out a Burger and a chicken burger. The service was really friendly, and they immediately apologized and knew that it was their mistake, so I give them another star for service. But overall, I wasn’t that impressed with Uncle Sam, he is not MY uncle, but just like my uncle he gave me a sweetie for eating my whole dinner.

I have always been a fan of Uncle Sam’s and I always will be, for its delicious American style food. My experiences at this restaurant have never been disappointing; maybe that’s because I seldom go at peak times and I tend to usually order my favourite dishes. Any meal with fall-off-the-bone saucy, meaty and juicy ribs does it for me; absolutely divine and you must try them if you haven’t already. If you are unsure where to go to eat whether or not you’re alone, Uncle Sam’s is a definite recommendation — there is a choice of food that would suit everyone including kids menus plus they serve breakfast all day! Their portions are also liberal and prices are more than reasonable. Uncle Sam’s is simple in design both from the outside and the inside, not to be underestimated for its quality and fine service.

If you stick to the burgers and chips you’ll probably do alright here. I still don’t think that Uncle Sam’s is a patch on Rockerfellas for being an enjoyable American dining experience — and few can beat Rockerfellas’ milkshakes — but it is a much better option than MacDonald’s especially because the staff here don’t look ready to blow their brains out at anygiven opportunity. There is also a much better menu than most buger joints especially when it comes to the ribs but when you see ribs on the menu you can guess it’s not the place to come for a quiet, intimate meal. On saturday this place can be heaving with shoppers and families and the staff can look a little rushed but it’s a fun experience nonetheless.

Although Uncle Sam’s may not look much from the outside, it’s selection of US classics is far broader and tastier than those to be found at the fifties themed Rockerfella’s diner just up the road. Juicy burgers, creamy coleslaw and sticky, falling-off-the-bone ribs are all homemade at Uncle Sam’s and for an indecently low price — it’s as if they’ve forgotten to convert from dollars. Inside the place looks like it has seen better days — the tables are a little wobbly though and the carpet is as chintzy as any housedress you might have found being worn by a fifties domestic goddess — but it all adds to the charm of the place and better the honesty of the décor here than the Route 66 signs and baseball mitts that adorn the walls of any branch of Frankie and Bennies or TGI Fridays. The staff were a little rushed when we visited, despite us being one of only four tables in the place but they were friendly enough and were happy to take the time out to recommend the ribs(which turned out to be a fantastic suggestion). Uncle Sam’s; I pledge allegiance.

Uncle Sam’s is a bistro restaurant in Liverpool city centre and I must admit seems a little hit and miss. I have been on a couple of occasions and both times had a completely different experience. The first time the food was fab, real honest homecooked food with real generous portions, and all at a great price. The second time was a trainwreck… the staff were still as friendly and cheerful, however the food was not. It tasted like it had been pulled from the bottom of a freezer. I’ve given three stars because I don’t know if the first day was a one off excellent day, or if the horrendous meal was a one off bad day!
