We were unsure of the pricing of the food and the price of the tap water was hidden to the customer. The food was very spicy though the service was v nice. Their was a fly in my green tea and toilets were ‘interesting’

Unfortunately it was not a leisurely day in Liverpool. Considering the weather was miserable, maybe it was for the best. We were very hungry after sitting for two hours in one of the Home Office’s visa centres(with a good result!) and we were ready to devour something! Wagamama was not our first choice, but because we didn’t want to wait, we made our way over to Liverpool ONE. It is at the top floor of the shopping centre with loads of other restaurants. It was quite chilly and the rain was coming down quite heavily, so no outdoor seating today… which is a shame because I quite like the view. We were greeted quickly, but tables had to be cleaned and reset before we could be seated. We were browsing the menu and it looked a bit different to the others we had been to. They had chef’s specials! Once we were seated, we did notice a draft of cold wind coming from somewhere. We found that if we moved over slightly, it wasn’t too bad, but even the people around us were commenting about it. Under sides(I like to think of these as starters even though there is no guarantee that they will arrive to your table before your main), I noticed they had steamed buns with your choice of fillings. So I decided to order one of those with the Korean BBQ Beef along with my Beef Teriyaki Soba. Yup, double beef today. Mr. Snarky decided on an order of Chicken Gyoza and the Grilled Duck Ramen. Ever since I recommended it on his first visit to a Wagamama, he has been stuck on it. Can’t blame him though, it is good and maybe I should have had that. Surprisingly our sides came before our mains, so it was as I had hoped. I had expected something different from the steamed bun… I was remembering the large, round buns filled with meat, veg, or red bean that I would get on the way to class in Shanghai. However, this looked a bit like a taco… steamed bun folded in half with the beef filling tucked in. It is garnished with Japanese Mayo and Cilantro. I really enjoyed it and would gladly have a trio of those for lunch! Mr. Snarky’s Chicken Gyoza were nice, but the sauce that came with it was quite spicy and to be honest, I didn’t like the flavor. Mr. Snarky’s ramen came out about 5 – 7 minutes before my main came out so he was halfway done when I started. I had asked for the beef on my main to be cooked to medium, which hasn’t been a problem at other locations and the meat is still tender. When my dish arrived, the meat had been cooked to well done and the waiter even brought a knife with it. Really? Anyway, I was hungry and really couldn’t think of sending it back. Although, in hindsight I should have… I did find that about a third of the noodles were a bit on the burnt side. It wasn’t seasoned very much, in fact I actually made use of the soy sauce on the table, which I don’t usually do. Mr. Snarky had a good lunch and was satisfied with everything, but the steamed bun was really the only highlight of my lunch. Really should have forced Mr. Snarky to walk the 1.5 miles uphill to my favourite restaurant in Liverpool. Their Asian food is delicious. Guess we will just have to make another trip to Liverpool!

We were craving Asian food and were excited to find a Japanese place close to our hotel. My husband ordered the Yasai Cha Han which was ok but a bit bland. I ordered the Chicken Ramen which wasn’t bad, but didn’t taste at all like ramen that I’ve had in California or in Japan. Service was slow. My husband got his food much earlier than I got mine, which wasn’t great because he politely waited until we both got our dishes before beginning to eat. Our waitress more or less disappeared after we received our food. We had to flag down another waiter for our bill. The restaurant is in a good location though. It was nice to shop in Liverpool ONE after dinner. We probably would not come back to this restaurant next time we’re in Liverpool.

Great branch of Wagamama, never had any issues, the food is pretty standard but can’t complain :). Tastes good, predictable and consistent whenever I’ve been in.

Wagamama is just fantastic, I really enjoy their blend of Japanese and other Asian dishes and would recommend it to anybody. This is the only Wagamama restaurant I have been to so I can’t compare to the rest of the country, but this one in particular is just excellent. The food draws inspiration from all over Asia, though leans more towards the Japanese side of things. For main courses there’s a large variety of Ramen, Teppanyaki, Donburi… the list goes on. I’m particularly a big fan of the Teriyaki Chicken Donburi, Yakisoba, Pork or Duck Ramen and especially the different Katsu Curries. I really want to sample the Kare Lomen or the Itame on my next visit. The various dishes are also just delicious. Definitely order the gyoza, you can’t go wrong with those at any time. For drinks you can get a wide range but I always get at least one green tea — you have to. They offer my favourite — Jasmine Green Tea. As for alcohol, they offer some of the best of the best. The sake on offer is very tasty and an absolute must when having food of this type. How could you eat this and NOT have sake? Crazy. The Japanese are also excellent at beer and Wagamama offer two of the best — Asahi and Kirin Ichiban. Both are absolutely top notch. There is also a nice Plum Wine available. The seating arrangement is a little strange and almost made me knock one star off the score. You sit on big, long, benches… which means that you can end up sitting next to strangers. Now, this is perfectly normal and common in Japan so in the end I decided that it added to the overall experience. It’s still not something that I would personally pick, but the good points of this restaurant vastly outweigh this negative. Wagamama is a great Japanese-leaning fusion restaurant with a little of something for everybody and a wide variety of excellent food. Make sure to give it a try!

Typical, great Wagamama food, but the service was lacking. It seems like they do not have enough servers there and it’s hard to get them to pay attention to you.

Very spacious place and set out very nice. Food is pricey, food is mediocre and quantity is not much. They arrive in huge bowls that make the food look more than it is. Customer service was good and drinks are lovely. Pity about the food.

The most distinctly OK place I’ve ever eaten. Its passable-ness really defies description. Some strangeness with the table service — the dishes are brought out as soon as they’re ready, so there’s a chance that one of you might’ve finished eating before another has had a single bite. Not exactly super-cheap either. But the fried duck dumplings with cherry sauce are delicious. The drinks are extortionate. And it has the atmosphere of an airport lobby. Go. Eat. Leave. Fair enough.

Wagamama is a restaurant which has grown in popularity over the last few years and it has firmly established itself as one of my favourite places to dine in Liverpool. Eating in Liverpool One is always a pleasurable experience due to the fact that it is such a hive of activity and a generally wonderful place in which to spend your time. This place claims to be a pan Asian noodle bar and it really is a delight for those who visit. The quality of the food here is top notch and it really hits the spot each and every time. As well as this the service is amazing and the staff show great attention to detail in whatever they do which is a pleasurable thing to behold. On the whole this place is another example of the high calibre of places to visit in Liverpool in general and especially within Liverpool One.

I would say Wagamama’s meals are fairly pricey for my frugal nature, but when I visited this Liverpool One branch, I ate free on account of knowing the chef’s son. Watching everybody else on this special pre-opening night night was hilarious. They would pick up their menu before remembering they had all got in for zero quid and could have whatever they wanted. Then their heads would all invariably tilt downwards to the most expensive thing on the menu. That’s how things work when you get free food and I couldn’t love it more. The food itself was delicious. The meat was succulent, the noodles were gorgeous and the entire meal was enormously satisfying. I even enjoyed the part where you fumble with chopsticks like a demented orang-utan before finding a method of shovelling the food into your gob that isn’t correct but just works, dammit.

Sip Slurp Chew Sip Slurp Chew It doesn’t matter if it’s summer, autumn, winter or spring — I could eat a bowl of chicken kare lomen every single day. Served in a generous bowl, it compromises D*E*L*I*C*I*O*U*S ramen noodles, bean sprouts, cucumber and fresh coriander in a truly mouth-watering sauce spiced with lemongrass, chilli and coconut. Balanced on top, is a grilled chicken breast sliced into four or five pieces. On its own, its close to perfect. Accompanied by green tea and and dumplings, its heaven in a bowl.

Ok I admit it, I am a serial Yaki Udon killer! Wagamamas across the UK are my hunting ground where I seek out my prey from the menu take aim, order, and slay that Udon monster down!!! Once my bloodthirst for that fat juicy noodle is quenched and I am satisfied only then am I able to continue with my daily life in disguise. Invisible to the naked human eye one glance at me on the street of your respective city and you wouldn’t in your wildest dreams imagine me as such a depraved creature who yearns for a slice of your wagamama… If ever there was perfection personified in a dining experiance this place is it. Jerry Mcguire might have been the embassador of «kwan» for Rod Tidwell, but Wagamama takes the Kwan biscuit when it comes to restaurants. From the food to the service to environment, the place is top drawer to the power of x… the x-factor!!! Oh how I wish all places served those spicy prawn crackers. Oh how I wish the iMac like efficiency of the service was the same everywhere else. Never mind bow chica wow wow… its all about waga waga mammaaaaaaa for me you cheeky monkies!!! This particular one in Liverpool one is no different and thank heavens for that. I could point out and recommend which food to try, but I won’t. You wanna know why? Because I want you to TRYTHEMALL!!! This dish is in order… that dish is in order… they’re alllll in order… even the great Al Pacino would say!!! In conclusion Arnie said it best in one of the final sequences from one of my favourite movies of all time(which is getting another remake out in cinemas 8th July directed by the great Robert Rodriguez)…“Come onnnnn… What are you waiting forrrr… do ittttttttttt come onnnn ” …That’s exactly what the contents of your bowl from Wagama will without fail be shouting at you… Or maybe that’s just me !!!

Wagamama presents noodle culture in the heart of Liverpool One. I ordered a Chicken Kare Lomen which was a noodle soup dish described as: ramen noodles in a spicy coconut and lemongrass soup topped with grilled chicken, beansprouts and cucumber. It sounded quite mouth-watering and it certainly was, however do be warned as they do mean«spicy»! A bit too spicy for my liking — my lips were going a little numb. But, the ingredients matched the description. Overall, the flavour was pretty good. It wasn’t much of a soup dish though but rather a thick sauced noodle dish, drizzled with chilli oil. Service was fine and my dish was served within 5 – 10 minutes. In total, I paid £11.95 including a drink which I thought wasn’t value for money. Apart from the price, everything else was okay — the friendliness of staff, presentation of dish, spacious indoor/outdoor dining area and a relaxed atmosphere.
