Watched a 2015 Rugby World Cup match here and had a blast. Chatted with the locals and had some excellent local beer from Cardigan. Bartender was very friendly and keep a close eye on people’s drink refills. Overall, a great place!

Visited this centrally located coaching inn upon a recent trip on the Heart of Wales(Train) Line. Having sampled some of the local hospatilities in Llangadog, I would though I’d try this one especially as I was looking towards buying some lunch on this occassion. Was not fortunate to sample some of the local Evans Evans or Tomos Watkins beers for that matter but none the less tried a Cornish real ale by the name of Sharpe’s Doom Bar(nice). Very old fashioned establishment décor wise in fitting with its history as a coaching inn/grade 2 listed status, nontheless clean and comfortable and quite a large bar consindering there is a good size restaurant for guests staying the night in the accomodation the place has to offer. Food is served from 12.00 pm to 2.30 pm &6pm to 9.30 pm 7 days a week. They offer 3 courses for £10 on weekday lunches and on Sunday night too(also £7 for two courses). The main is quite extensive offering steaks, welsh tid bits and a selection of bar meals, salads & deserts. I opted of the Chef’s Soup of the Day followed by Faggots and Mash & Peas with Red Wine Gravy, finished off with a Sticky Toffee Pudding(with hazelnut and toffee sauce with crème anglaise). The food was not only ecellent but the service was good too. Highly recommend upon this first visit and look forward to going back there sooner rather than later.

A small Welsh hamlet like this seems a bit of an unusual place for a posh looking Gastro pub of this kind, but there you go. isn’t it. The barman was a nice chap both times that we turned up! And there were a couple of decent Evan Evans beers to enjoy.

What a brilliant surprise this is, in the middle of nowhere(sorry Llangadog). Service was friendly and food arrived promptly(we were the only ones eating mind). Loving the fagotts from Llangadog! Food well presented, and of excellent quality. Refill coffee was an added bonus.

Room & stay: Stayed here for B&B. We had a lovely comfortable room, nice flat screen tv, but no iron or hairdryer. Also the packet of 3 custard creams gave it a slightly cheap«not quite there yet» feel. The rooms overlook the high street in Llangadog, and unfortunately the traffic noise is pretty awful from very early on in the morning(from about 5.00am), which is a killer if you are a light sleeper like me. The double bed however was great and very comfortable. Food: The starter(pâté) and mains(steak & chips) in the restaurant were good quality, but way too expensive for what it was. £18 for the steak! The puddings we had were average. Sticky toffee pudding was ok but the berry cheesecake was a really horrible texture. The service in the evening was friendly, but on the wrong side of laid back, to the point of nonchalant disorganisation. We had pre-booked for 7pm but when we got there, we were told that we couldn’t sit in the restaurant as there were only two of us and they only had group tables! We sat in the bar in the end, which wasn’t a problem, but we did think«what’s the point of booking?» Starters came without cutlery, and 20 mins after ordering our puddings, the waitress came and said«sorry for the delay, but your desserts are being made now» but without telling us why! Breakfast in the morning was a brilliant redemption– fabulous cooked breakfast with delicious sausages and thick cut bacon, and great attentive service. Much better.
