This unassuming lunch spot serving the City crowd is right out the back door of my yoga/massage studio(Blue Cow Yoga) — so on this particular rainy day, I was loose as a noodle(massage) but needed some sustenance. 32 Café Coleman is not a chain, so there’s an upside right there! They have a hot food bar(I chose the pizza but there was also lasagna, chicken and a few other dishes) and a cold counter with sandwiches, pastas, deli salads, etc. They have the customary sodas, sweets, smoothies and fresh made items from the menu board as well. The real gem though seems to be their prepped salads(in refrigerator near the front) that look very fresh, quite robust and flavorful. I’d go for that next time. The gals were all super friendly, and there seems to be a good lunch crowd with plenty of room to eat. Far beats Pret and the other glut of chains on this stretch, so pop back over to Coleman street and check it out — local is the way to go! Oh, and the pizza was quite good! Mozzarella & basil. I added a Sprite and some sweets and was still under 5 quid, so this place is also a pretty definite value.

A new haunt of mine is Café 32 Coleman, situated as the name would suggest on Coleman Street. This is a popular spot for lunch in the square mile and the eating area is always busy, although I always takeaway as I work around the corner. They do a great selection of sandwiches off the menu and to order, but prefer the pizzas. The meat pizza containing, ham chorizo and sausage priced at £5.15 represents a bargain for the quality of food you are getting, even if it result in a sleepy afternoon in the office.
