Really enjoyed the brunch here, & the service was excellent. I had the Eggs Arlington(Benedict with salmon), which I thought were excellent, with perfectly poached eggs.(My husband had the same and thought there was too much Hollandaise, but I disagree) The eggs Arlington also come with about 4 tiny potatoes, but there are additional sides available too. My only complaint is the £2 cover charge per person + 12.5% added to the total. I will come back here and will recommend to friends.

All in all– not bad. Service was good, vibe was pleasant. Beef fillet was cooked very well.

I’ve eaten here twice and both times the food was great — but not the service. The restaurant is visually stunning, and from the dirty martini to the tuna tartare appetizer, the food was great. I haven’t had the steak because I’m American and I’m not usually in the mood to over pay for a steak that I can get back home(that said, I love STK and CUT in London). I got the spaghetti and meatballs on my last visit and the dish was worthy of any italian restaurant. If they just had decent wait staff who knew what they were doing(and who wouldn’t abandon you once you get your entrée) I would rate it 5 stars.

Stayed at a hotel around the corner from this place, it was recommended by our hotel. Went on a Friday night and it was pretty crowded. We made a reservation a few hours before. Definitely an intimate restaurant as far as how close you are to other tables so not much privacy if your planning something romantic. As far as the crowd, it was an older crowd, at least where we were sitting. We shared the smoked salmon to start with then I had the Steak Frites and my man had the rib-eye which was huge. Both were good, not great, but good. We shared the Lobster Mac & Cheese which was to die for!!! Definitely a must have! Best lobster Mac & cheese I’ve ever had, I would even go there again just for that! Over all, the service was great, they we’re on top on everything, always filling up your drinks etc.

Very simplistic dishes with few condiments. Very tasty but expensive for it. It lacks of a bit of beauty, food for the eyes in my opinion. Also the steak from the brunch was better than the chateaubriand and the new york steak so that wS disappointing. Expect to pay 160 $/200 $ for two at night.

Had a fabulous dinner with friends who live in London here. The atmosphere is elegant and chic. Shrimp cocktail was definitely the miss of the night. Apparently in the UK cocktail sauce is thousand island dressing. I learned this the hard way. Salmon tataki was excellent. Venison was so tender and perfect on a bed of parsnip purée. I devoured this dish. Apple pie with cinnamon ice cream was warm and decadent. I loved the feel of this restaurant. It was refined but lively at the same time. Service was wonderful and I’d definitely recommend it.

Our hotel concierge recommended this restaurant. We could walk to it, which was nice. We were greeted by two very nice doormen. Our food was very good. Our service was very good. We went on a Monday night at 6:30pm. The restaurant was pretty empty at first, but became very full by the time we left. It appeared to have a lot of business people meeting for drinks and dinner. My husband and I were very satisfied.

I wasn’t interested in 34. The awesome panther clad with pennies outside was very compelling, though! Check it out!

Slightly overpriced(comparing to mayfair high end restaurants, it was clearly better than most hotel restaurants but compared to Michelin restaurant level restaurants in the same price range it leaves something to be desired.) but a very good meal none the less. Starter Chargrilled squid and Iberico croquettes were a highlight. Nice smoky sauce, the squid was lovely and easy enough to share, although there was only one croquette. Monkfish with braised octopus was good, the sauce especially. I had the pigeon(always a personal favourite) but at £32 very steep for minimal sides. Pigeon was perfect level of rare but compared to competing restaurants be aware this might not be the best value option. We ordered the burnt carrots as a side, recommended. Cocktails were on par with my other high end favourite bars(Churchill’s nearby, and the bar at CUT) with regards to price luckily they backed it up. Mint Julep was excellent and the Carolinae champagne cocktail was nice and subtle. Be aware they charge a £2 cover pp on top of the bill too. I suppose it’s very close to a 5* meal but can’t help but compare the price tag to similar restaurants and in a city like London it’s easy enough to find better value(mostly wrt main dishes, was happy enough with starter, sides and cocktails).

Great meal. My wife and I had filet’s and other items. This is on par with any great American steakhouse. Service is excellent.

When a restaurant is rated second on a top 5 list, you expect it to be good. So I went to 34 in Mayfair with high hopes, after reading The Cow Council Top 5 at . The review on their website read promising, and I thought when even Jay Rayner liked it( ), what could go wrong? To cut it short, nothing did go wrong. But let’s go through this pleasant evening in more detail. 34 is located in Mayfair, so you have to expect Mayfair prices — an evening at 34 is not a big night out on a tiny budget. I think the restaurant has a very classy atmosphere, there are some nice and some interesting paintings on the walls and a live piano player entertains the diners with some fine tunes. Thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks to a recent wine tasting with Convivium Wine( ), I discovered a new white wine that I really liked. And when I spotted an Albariño on the fine wine menu, I knew that I had to taste this one. If you don’t know about Albariño, you can read about it on the WineTubeMap at — a very nice tool to explore new wines. So I asked for the Albariño and it tasted delicious. A fresh and crisp wine, just perfect. But I have to say, it was not the cheapest wine on the menu — yet again, this is Mayfair. Now to the food, I was very happy to get a sample of about four different kinds of bread to begin with, and all tasted good. I decided to get a proper starter and ordered the fried duck egg with chorizo and watercress. What a delightful plate of food! The main was equally great, a tender and soft steak that melted in my mouth and really was worth it. Besides the food, the service also was a treat. The staff were very friendly and nice and simply provided a decent service. When I came in, some were joking behind the counter, and while a few people might find that unacceptable at such a serious restaurant, I found it welcoming to see that they are just people like me who want to enjoy themselves on the job. Maybe I had the best waiter in the world, I really liked him. Perhaps because he said that I selected his favourites, and he might say that to every single guest to make them feel good, after all that’s what he’s being paid for, but for some reason I believed him. When I walked out, I noticed the open kitchen — another nice feature of this place. While everything at 34 is on the expensive side, I personally think that food, wine and service is almost as good is it could get, and for such an extraordinary dining experience, I am happy to pay a bit more. You can feel pretty poor when leaving the venue without asking for a cab or jumping right into your Rolls-Royce or Mercedes SLS just in front of the restaurant or one of the Porsches or Landrovers parked all over the streets around 34. But then, I’d rather drink another glass of wine and take the bus, than getting a cab home for the same price. If you like a good steak or good food in general and value impeccable service, I cannot recommend 34 highly enough.

I have to agree with Kevin N. on his review of 34 regarding the main dish– my steak was burnt ! And all I asked for was medium Of course I was able to return it back but by the time they will cook me a medium steak I would have to leave as they do the silly restaurant policy of 2 hours reservation of table! I think food /dessert in general was ok(three stars) you can definitely get better food for the same prices in other places Putting this issue aside, I totally enjoyed the atmosphere, hospitality and the live band playing(that was a very pleasant surprise) I would love to try it once again for lunch at some point Recommend it for any one after a romantic dinner(not necessarily to enjoy the food) but the place however, the table was extremely wobbly even after we complained and they tried to fix it.

ALMOST as good as it gets… Romantic dinner or Sunday lunch, with three kids? It was great. We’ve had dinner here before. Than, in the eve, the guests are very diverse: A table with 27 – 35’ish women, ready to for cocktails and dancing afterwards. A few families with adult/grown up kids. Some tables with grey hair, double breasted suites, pearls and fur coats. A few couples and some business suits. Dress code? Not really, but don’t hoody’up unless you are 12 yrs old. Jeans, shirt, dress, heels. Wine list: Will make your taste buds dance! Food: Go for meat(amazing argentinian steaks or venison), poultry(beautifully, moist, crispy chicken) or fish(damn you Dover Sole… you is good) ! We had: — The Burger(the 6 year old loved it, but so did his father) very good pickles and the burger it self? Tasty! And it was big! — The Venison, so soft… good choice. Veggies and mash came with. — Steak Frites: good for kids ;) — Big Argentinean Steak: damn good! — Chicken… crispy, seasoned, spiced, moist.(my favourite) it came with a very good coleslaw. Not to great: the veggies as side orders… they are so pure, fresh, but boring compared to the rest of the best meal of this week. Staff: THANKYOU! They are very, very good. Kind, professional, flexible, «traditional but from this year». The waitress, waiters and hosts. See you soon… Again!

Fancy attempt at high end steak falls short. I was underwhelmed by my half inch thick NY strip steak, cooked on a grill that didn’t seem hot enough to sear the surface of the meat. Anyone who has attempted to cook a steak medium rare(pinkish red) knows that it’s nearly impossible to achieve that with a thin cut of meat. You either have it cooked through or barely seared. The starters might have been the best I’ve had in London, and the dessert selection is fantastic. Unfortunately for them, the main event is flawed. If you are looking for a premium cut of meat cooked in a world class way, go to Goodmans or Hawskmoor. Pros: starters, sides, service, décor Cons: the steak
