An interesting night was spent here catching up with a couple of friends. We got there about 7:30pm but it wasn’t busy so got a table straight away. There was only one waiter on duty so the service was a bit slow but we weren’t in any rush so were happy to wait. When we did eventually place our orders the waiter came back to say that the sea bream I had ordered was not available, not a problem I went for the tuna instead. unfortunately he came back again and said that the there was only one serving of tuna and as my friend had I already ordered I opted to change to the Salmon, but you guessed it this was off the menu as well! Eventually we managed to order something that was actually available. I should have stuck to the pizza which did look good! After waiting quite a while our mains arrived, unfortunately our starters hadn’t but we decided to say nothing and just have what we’d been served. The food was good. My friend had kindly let me order the grilled tuna steak while he went for the Chicken Caesar Salad. The tuna was slightly overcooked for my taste but not bad and the salad and potatoes that came with it were lovely. My friend’s salad was good too and my other friend got the Calzone which he said was very good but very hot, so be warned! The waiter, embarrassed by the confusion with the food earlier, redeemed himself by matching a glass of wine to my tuna perfectly. And despite the mix-up the waiter was lovely and he explained at the end that it was only his second day on the job! We ended the meal sharing a tiramisu which was only average. All in all I enjoyed myself here. The food was ok, the atmosphere nice, and the questionable service hilarious!

Been here a few times and have always had nice food. I’ve tried the pasta, pizza and salads. Always been really nice and cooked as it should be.

I always been tempted by Alba’s outdoor seating, so one sunny day we have decided to try it out. Unfortunately the food was rather bad, especially considering the price paid. My pizza looked sad, boyfriends chicken was plain and boring and my friends pasta was below average. Would not return there again.

I used to love Alba. It was a lovely local cheap eat, perfect for a Sunday evening. However, the last time I went there we waited over an hour for our food, received very little in the way of an apology from the overly pompous staff, and when we finished we weren’t allowed to pay by card, so all had to traipse down the road to get cash out. They didn’t even offer us a discount until we pressed for one. Needless to say I shall not be going back. Eco is close by so I haven’t lost anything. I actually feel the owners have changed which is why it’s gone downhill. They used to do an incredible linguine gamberoni which they took off the menu. Big big disappointment.

No reviews here for a couple of years — I hope that doesn’t mean people aren’t going to Alba ‘cos they’re missing out! The food is fresh and tasty, and the staff are friendly and efficient. Great atmosphere, good value, what more do you want? Wild boar ragu is amazing — even better than when I had it in Italy. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. And they do takeaway! I suppose the only negative(and it’s tiny) is that the tables are quite close together.

Not bad, Alba, not bad. Popped here for a quick lunch this weekend and enjoyed. There was only one other couple eating here so the service was attentive and friendly. We sat outside in the afternoon sun. I went for a salad(controversial) and it was juicy and flavoursome, save for the chicken which was dry unfortunately. My friend has the puttanesca salad which was really really tasty and fresh. Food envy! I’m sure the pizzas are good, they looked tasty, but maybe next time. I just can’t get past Eco for pizzas though, further down the High St. We shared some pesto bread which was frickin gorgeous. And very unhealthy! Buuuut, this place offers 50% discount for up to 8 people with a tastelondon card. Let me here you say baaaaarrrrrgain. My lunch and two beers was £12. High five!

I’m a pizza snob. Really. There are only a few pizza places in this town that I approve of — and a vast majority that I think are absolutely atrocious and are a blight upon our dear city. Luckily(for the folks of Clapham), Alba gets a thumbs up from me for their decent pizzas. I’d even consider trekking back down there from north of the river just to have a meal here. And I wouldn’t think twice about dining here with my American and Italian friends. Yummy sauce and quality toppings. I recommend the one on their menu with speck.

A more than fitting venue for a Qype community meet up, this compact, friendly restaurant is situated slap bang on the doorstep of Clapham North station, enticing hungry commuters with homemade thin base pizza recipes which give it the well deserved accolade of Best Pizza in Clapham. My prosciutto crudo was divine, light and moorish. Offering a wide variety of normal and folded pizzas around the £10 mark, with reasonably priced sides this is great place to chinwag with old pals, reminisce about old times or start a debauched evening of activities down Clapham High Street! Get involved.

Note to self: do not heartily recommend eateries based only on the food that I — a vegan — am able to eat. Luckily, it turns out that as well as providing sumptuous no-cheese pizzas when asked, Alba do a decent line in meaty ones. They looked a bit weird — one person had squares of one meat dotted with circles of another, almost as though the chef was playing funny face games — but apparently they were tasty enough. My fellow diners found the menu’s a trifle misleading: one pizza was described as having olives included and when it showed up there was ONE olive, chopped in half and stuck in the centre for decoration. My funghi with sun dried tomato(minus the cheese), meanwhile, was absolutely gorgeous. Me, smug? Never

I do appreciate a good pizza and this was definitely a good pizza. It was also huge — it’s rare that I can’t finish one on my own, and I was insanely hungry when I sat down. Very filling, very satisfying. Also very well priced considering how much food they gave you. And the staff were very friendly as well, all smiles and very attentive. I do wish I had room for dessert, but unfortunately there was just no way it was happening. Still, I know for next time bring more food home and get someone to share some cake with me.

As someone who’s eaten a lot of pizza(and i mean a lot) I like to think that I know whats hot and whats not, and I can say for sure the pizza here is certainly edging closer to the hot side of the tracks. My calabrese stacked to the nines with pepperoni(in place ofsome of the more healthy ingredients of the pizza, which seemed to have jumped ship before it arrived at my table, which secretly pleased me) and the sheer size of the thing was something to behold. All in all i’d put it 32nd out of 456 pizzas to date.

I love this place — great value for money. Helpful, friendly staff — and a better seating arrangement than the San Marco.

Great pizza, conveniently located next to the Tube station at Clapham North. In summer you can eat outside and smoke. Traditional style thin Italian pizza which you tear in to pieces. Good salads and a nice range of wines.

We go here all the time, mostly when we can’t be bothered to cook or be healthy! Some of the best pizza I’ve had in London. Gets quite busy, but usually quick service and you can be in and out in a short space of time. Great pizza for vegetarians and my favourite is la dolce vita, which has rocket all over it, yum! Loving that this place is just up the road from my house, not loving that it’s also on the way home from the gym!
