Really good lunch menu. Loved the Korean rice bowl. It came with an enormous prawn cracker. Slightly expensive but enjoyable

Please don’t accept online bookings if the technology isn’t up to it. The waitress eyed me suspiciously when I mentioned my lunch booking, then said ‘but you must have booked online, the system’s down’, in a tone which suggested this was somehow my fault. We were then shown to a table crammed with the previous occupants’ dirty plates(which were cleared away within a few minutes) and served a drink and a main course. Before I could ask for coffee or the dessert menu, the same waitress dumped the bill in the middle of the table and walked away. It’s one way of finishing the business meeting more quickly, I guess. The food’s still very good though.

I really enjoyed this link in All Bar One’s large and London-heavy chain. My friend and I tried this particular because, being in the Liverpool Street area, it was really close to her fancy high-powered financial job. I can only imagine the kind of lunches it hosts and the after-work-drink clientèle. The atmosphere in here was made by the dim-lighting and a busy feel. More than its other restaurants, it gives the impression of a much more pricey and up-scale establishment. Neither of us knew whether we wanted a post-work/class meal or just a drink. We did well to have a bit of each. Thankfully it was Tuesday and we spotted the World Tapas for Two deal. Basically it includes a choice of any two tapas and a bottle of wine for £15. I mean, considering a barely decent bottle of wine from Tesco is around £6, this was a steal with it costing a little over £7 each! While I try and only do tapas in Spanish eateries, they were better than expected, especially the Houmous Trip with the traditional, tagine, and beet with walnut varieties. It was served with a nice bocata bread and we both left feeling satisfied. The other tapas we agreed on was this crispy duck and mango dish served on crispy lattice cups. The bottle of red was very nice and was just enough to loosen us up and get us talking well into the night. The service was miles better than what I experienced in other locations of this chain. They even came up and asked us how our food was. To be fair, there were not a lot of people after 7pm and we still had to go up in order to pay our bill. Needless to say, I left feeling very merry. I would definitely do another tipsy Tuesday here!

All bar one makes me think that they’re trying too hard to be as loud as a nightclub with the ambiance of a traditional pub setting. It just doesn’t work for me, it feels forced. Too loud to have a conversation, service was prompt but delivered with an attitude. Its not worth it. There’s better bars near by.

As a pub it remains true to the template of all bar one the pine strip feel with simple clean lines and a fair selection of keenly priced food and drink. I did surprise myself recently in needing a place for a mid morning coffee meeting. I hit Starbucks around the corner and it was filled to capacity, so chanced my arm at this place. It was quiet, table service, cheaper, better cleaner seating area and not a bad coffee, so a rare thing for me to suggest but should you need a place for such an occasion as well as the usual pub function this place was perfect.

Wandered into All Bar One this weekend for an impromptu dinner with a friend before seeing a show at the Barbican. It’s located just a few minutes on foot from the Barbican and is convenient for pre or post-show drinks/dinner, albeit the service leaves much to be desired/much to complain about. The restaurant itself is very Liverpool Street: simple and clean. It gives the impression of being a formal, sit-down establishment; however, when we went in, there was no one to greet us and no sign stating whether to order at the bar or seat ourselves. We opted, in typical London fashion, to head directly to the bar(which was the right move) and ordered with the incompetent bartender who seemed to be the only staff member in the whole place. The atmosphere at All Bar One is nothing special and, in fact, feels cold and corporate, while the food is average at best. It’s a decent enough option if you’re just getting drinks, but if you’re looking for some place to have a good meal, this is certainly not the place. For £5 more, you can get amazingly fresh, seasonal mains at Searcy’s on Level 2 of the Barbican.

Fairly generic(well it is a chain) pub. The food is nothing special(ok burgers and other standard choices) but the staff are nice and they have a good selection of beers, wines and ciders. They have an organic ale and some Belgian beers, Aspalls on draught and the Peronells Blush. Not being a wine drinker I can’t comment on their selection but it appears they have a good range. This All Bar One has quite a lot of simple bench seating inside and some seating outside which is really popular in the summer which is especially popular. Bare in mind it’s usually full of City workers.

There’s an all bar one about a block or half a block from here, but this one is definithttp://static.px.yelp.com/static/20090120/i/new/ico/star_big3.gifely less crowded. I’ve been here a couple of times to meet up with the DB people that work at Appold Street and it’s a great place just to hang out after work. I’ve never been when it’s been ridiculously crowded, and all there’s a great area to hang out outside on summer days. There’s a bit of a crowd obviously between 6 – 7, but it usually calms down after those who only stop by for 1 drink after work leave and it’s a comfortable and fun atmosphere. The drinks are good, the food is good, real convenient for those Appold-ers. =)

In the summer this is a great location — it catches the afternoon sun! Situated opposite one of the Deutsche Bank office blocks and right outside the Liverpool street station back entrance you can just imagine the clientele I attracts! All the city workers during the day having meetings, lunch and drinks after, or dare I say during, work! Being part of a chain you always know what food and drinks to expect! They do have a nice food menu and it is always fresh. The nachos are always good to share with a group. This particular venue has a good vibe. Situated on a rounded corner with many windows the space has a nice light feeling filled with wooden tab and chairs and relatively friendly happy staff! Enjoy after work with colleagues or friends or even during the day!!!
