This place is delicious! And it’s not pricey at all. The food is 5 star quality. I’ve been here a number of times and I’m always leaving very happy with my whole experience. Their pizza is soooo amazing! And the bruschetta is definitely recommended to start with. I love going here when the weather is nice because they have a beautiful large garden and sometimes they have live jazz. A perfect place for authentic Italian food and a excellent glass of wine!

I’ve had mixed experiences here but on the balance of last night’s dinner, I would definitely go back and I’ll give it a solid four stars. Their brunch is lovely, although the place was largely deserted so the atmosphere wasn’t up to much — the only others were a family with some slightly noisy children, but that’s to be expected on Bellevue Road. The smoked chicken hash was excellent. Our previous dinner was a quick and desperate search for a burger — their effort, the lamb burger, was very disappointing. But last night we had a full 3 course meal and it went way beyond my(admittedly low after the burger debacle) expectations. I had a great roquefort and endive salad followed by some tasty calves’ liver(though why bother asking how I want it cooked if it comes sliced too thin to tell either way) and one of the best crème brulees ever(I know, high praise, but true). The bottle of Italian red was also lovely and not too expensive. The prices are quite high generally, but for this street, not so much. The pub down the road is probably charging similar and I can’t imagine the food is nearly as good as this — my brother will rant about the joyous dauphinoise potatoes for weeks to come. z The staff were also very friendly, and although it’s a little dark inside, the atmosphere for dinner is just the right side of too formal. Definitely a place for a date to impress, or a special occasion if you go for the full shebang, but also would be nice for a lunch. I imagine it’s not too full of business types given the location. One small thing — no bread pre-dinner. I’d expect that. A good find.

Last week, my daughter and I went to Amici, in Kenington for the first time. We had a very nice Dinner, sitting outside in the restaurant’s large courtyard enjoying the sunshine. It is a heaven of peace right in the centre of London and completely enclosed so very safe. To start with, my daughter had a plate of Spicy Calamaretti. The portion was large for a starter and finger liking tasty. I had 12 oysters(Yes, Amici serves oysters which come from West Mersey in Essex(they have a great oyster bar on the coast see ) As a main course, we both shared a Diavolo Pizza and Veal Saltimbocca. The pizza dough was nice and crispy at the bottom while the veal was perfectly cooked, not dry which is often the case. We could not eat anything else after that so we just enjoyed the sunshine and the wine. Yes, Amici is also a wine bar with a carefully selected list of wines most of them available by the glass, so we enjoyed a different glass of wine with each of our dishes. On the menu, there is a wine suggested to accompany each dish which is helpful. We shall certainly be back to Amici(It is not just a pizza place but a very good Italian neighbourhood restaurant reasonably priced)

The Venue The décor is modern and the seating consists of curved booths at one end of the restaurant, with a large red wooden communal table as the room’s centerpiece and smaller tables dotted around it. There is an outside area at the back that’s perfect in warm weather. The Atmosphere Loyal regulars come back again and again for never-changing favorites, but seasonal additions keep it interesting. Service is reliable and there is no problem adding something to a dish if you wish. The clientele is a mixture of couples young and old, families and groups of friends. The Food The menu also hits all the right notes, with its line-up of well-turned-out comfort food: textbook carpaccio, calamari, perfectly cooked Steaks, veal milanese the size of Sicily, &, especially, knockout pasta(try the crab linguini). Alternatively, perch on a stool at the bar while knocking back Prosecco & snacking on Bruschetta. The Drink Amici is fully licensed and you can indulge in classic or Champagne cocktails for about £6. One particularly welcome addition is a larger choice of wines by the glass, bottles of wine start at around £13.95 and beer is available either in draft or bottles.

They have recently moved to a new site, and it’s well designed and comfortable. The staff are friendly and efficient but this restaurant is sadly let down by the kitchen, the food is variable at best, it’s safest to stick to the basics.

Has recently relocated round the corner. Good atmosphere with friendly service but poor cooking. Veal saltimbocca was way too acidic and the sauce in the spaghetti carbonara was curdled/scrambled. Portions are large, though. Been here a few times hoping for better. Shame, as it could be a useful local restaurant if only their chef was better!

I decided very late on a Friday night that I wanted to go out for dinner and this is not far from where I live. I phoned at 8pm and was given a booking for 9pm. The place was really busy so surprised they managed to fit us in. The downside to our late booking was that several of the best meals on the menu were sold out. I opted instead for the Thai chicken curry with jasmine and poppy seed rice. It cost around £14 and was just how I like it. Enough sauce, enough of a kick too and with added Thai aubergine which I had never tried. The desserts are also worth a try. The atmosphere was good, even though the staff were a bit run off their feet. I’ll be heading back to try the lunch time menu or just for a drink.

Amici. Another place I would have liked to award 3,5 — but not 4. It’s a funny sort of place. Yes, I can imagine there are quite a few people who like this place a lot. I am not one of them. Find it cramped, too noisy and just never spot on. Been there a fair few times and somehow always end up feeling not quite satisfied. Hmm Is it because of the people running the restaurant or is it the quality of the food? Think it’s a bit of both actually. Had reasonably good meals but also fairly mediocre concoctions. Ho hum. For me, whenever I walk past looking for somewhere to eat I pretty much always end up going somewhere else. Shame really, Kennington could do with a fabulous Italian. In my book though, this is just not good enough

I’ve been here about 5 times. I am predictable and tend to get either a pizza or a steak — both are excellent options. The service can be a little slow, I think a few of the times we went in there were regulars who came in after us and were served first, but the staff are friendly and the food is brilliant, so I’d recommend you try it if you’re in the area.
