They make THE best penne carbonara.

I came here after arranging to meet my bestest BF in the world for girly catch-​up lunch. She’d suggested this place as she is based in the area and loves their carbonara (note: my BF usually hates carbonara, but adores it from here, so I thought it must be good!)
I wasn’t sure what to expect, seemed like a nice little café-​type place with an Italian oriented menu. I spotted the ‘hot salt beef sandwich’ on the specials and my mind was made up, especially when I saw the slab of meaty, salty brisket being kept toasty warm! I got it on rye with pickles and mustard. Was it good? Damn straight. Probably the best hot salt beef on rye I’ve had outside of LA!
I think I may be meeting my BF for lunch in the area more often :)

High quality fresh food prepared by an efficient team of enthusiastic staff! They have an eat-​in area downstairs that can accommodate around 20 people or if you wanna eat your delicious food in peace, you can take it away. Their menu ranges from bagels, salted beef, omelette’s, pasta, jacket potatoes, to panini’s, shepherd’s pie and fresh salads. There is a huge variety of things to have at reasonable prices. The premises are clean, the staff are very friendly and the quality is consistent.
As Amigo’s is a fav around the area, be prepared for lengthy queues between 12 and 1pm.
