Famed as an ice cream parlour but what impressed me most was its variety of hot chocolates. The flavours of ice cream and sorbet did not seem that innovative, with the most creative and their ‘flavour of the month’ being lime and basil which was pleasant enough but not particularly memorable. The service had room for improvement with my friends coffee not even being made until reminded and the queuing system unclear as to how to order(as accepting payment and serving are tasks seemingly allocated to separate members of staff). Nevertheless, the seating here is much appreciated, the produce of a good quality overall and it is clear that this is a decent place to come to satisfy a sweet tooth as well as relax and chat with friends.

I take my time and slowly select my companions. They need to compliment each other if they have a chance of satisfying me and fulfil the desires I have in mind. As I make my way down the street with them, I notice people staring. They know what I have in mind, and I can tell by the look in their eyes they are jealous. They watch us. I begin to feel so powerful. I have this fantasy and I’m making it a reality. The sun is shining bright, and the warm temperatures only make me want this more. I can’t make it home. I have to indulge right there on the street, and damn it’s good. I’m not ashamed. I am a woman, and I have needs. Sometimes I just need a gelato.

This is just up the street and after two visits, I’m definitely a fan. The first time, I had a small lemon sorbetti and a lime basil sorbetti. The lemon was fabulous, but the lime basil rocked my world. The combo together was bliss, but I bet the lime basil would be great with a raspberry or even all three. The second time, I went full-fat with a speculoos gelato and coffee gelato — both delicious, but the combo really did it for me. It tasted a bit like drinking a cinnamony cappuccino. My only real gripe is the layout, when busy and it always seems to be busy — makes it difficult to see the flavors and then you feel a bit pressured once you’re in front of the staff member waiting for your scoop selection. I will say the staff scoops the gelato into beautiful roses, which is clever and makes a slightly pricey treat that much more indulgent.
