Have been here twice now — it’s a bit expensive, but a lot of fun. We had an office event here the other night, a group of us came after work and ordered in pizza, brought some wine, and stayed until closing. The staff was lovely and more than happy for us to sit around eating pizza and drinking before we got started painting. And then to continue drinking while we painted. There were a few other adults there without kids, so it’s definitely not just for children(though I do often see children’s parties when walking past on a Saturday afternoon).

Lovely concept and idea! I’ve taken our friends daughter here and we had loads of fun. You get to decorate a pottery piece, once baked you get your unique piece back. They also offer team build activities which I can image will be fun.

Art 4 Fun is basically a sit down potter painting store. The operative word here is FUN. Yes they say it is for children but in reality adults have just as much(MORE) fun. So there are three crucial steps: 1) pick of pottery item from their large range — be it a teapot, a plate, a frog, a racing car or a skull 2) pick your paint 3) have FUN 4) give the item to them to place in the kiln.(I said four steps right). The staff are very friendly and seem to enjoy what they do. I confess I have a soft spot for them as they always reminded me of the kind of crazy arty«out there» chicks I fancies at University and which I would often bump into in some illegal club at 3am(how on earth did I get to this — I am reviewing a pottery painting store for gods sake — sorry) Anyways…back on track… you can bring your own booze, drinks and snacks etc — though they serve soft drinks /tea and coffee there. If you prefer they can arrange a take away kit for you and you can paint your ceramic pots in your own home… queue that scene from the film Ghost… you know the one when they are making a pot and interwining their finger you know the one that makes everyone melt and doesn’t have Whoopi Goldberg in it.

Art 4 Fun is a ceramic painting activity zone for kids(no way) and hen parties(yay) in West Hempstead. This shop’s staff is extremely friendly and helpful. What you do is, you walk along the shop looking at pieces of art which are all individually priced from 5 pounds. You then pay, a 5.99 daily fee for paint use(stay as long as you want. a steal!) You only pay again for another object to paint. The girlfriend loves this kind of thing and I’m going to take her here to paint something. This is a really nice shop.

For anyone who feels bereft having not been to art class since school, this place is great for an unusual night out. Once you have picked a piece to paint you can by espresso coffee, cakes or tea, or even bring wine to share with friends. You can paint onto ceramics, wood, glass, paper, silk or fabric, or make a mosaic. You can book in advance and ask the staff for help. You select a piece, and we provide unlimited use of brushes, paints and other creative tools to help you design your work of art. Come and create the perfect present — one-of-a-kind, functional, food-safe, microwave-safe ideal for gift giving, personal use or display in your home or office. Precious and priceless! The fee is about £6 plus the price of the item you choose. Ceramic items will be fired for you and you can come and pick them up another day. You can also book the place as a party venue. All in all a nice bit of imaginative fun.
