This bustling branch of Asda supermarket has a lot going for it — large two-story car park, café inside, pharmacy, newsagent, the full George clothing range, etc. Being Asda, it’s also super cheap. It’s also super busy. All. The. Time. 9am on a Monday(shouldn’t you all be at work then?) = busy. 1pm Wednesday afternoon = busy. 10pm Thursday night = busy. Anytime on Saturday = heaving with people. It’s impressive that car crashes don’t occur regularly — the entrance to the car park is narrow, and lighting is insufficient once you’re inside. Car park spaces are also the size of a postage stamp. If you can back into one of these spaces without hitting anything, you’re an excellent driver. Inside the store, it’s bright and cheerful… and this makes me not mind the hustle and bustle. The supermarket is laid out quite intuitively, and it’s nice that they have a fresh bakery on site.(that being said, it’s weird to be perusing fresh bread right next to someone trying on a sweater on sale in the George section). If you can stomach the crowds, and your wallet is light, feel free to come here for your weekly shop. If you tend to be overwhelmed by people/lights/produce, this might not be your local supermarket.
