Well made fresh sushi. Prices are correct. There is also a good range of asian supermarket foods on sale.

If you are looking for Japanese food, especially sushi this is the place to go. I promise you will find stuff you haven’t seen anywhere else. They sell fish that you won’t easily get anywhere else in London. Try the mackerel, the medium fatty tuna and the butterfish. You can choose to have the fish already cut into Sashimi. The shop is just amazing! It’s not cheap, but the quality of the fish is amazing. Best sushi fishmonger in London!

I used to live in Japan and when I open the door to this little store, a wave of nostalgia hits me from the smell to the instant greeting chorus of «irasshaimase~». I can get most of my basic Japanese needs in here and at a better price to boot. Rice, mugi-cha, tofu, fresh shiso leaves, and two types of konyakku! They also have free rentals of Japanese TV recorded onto DVDs. In the back is a fish mongers and an authentic«choose your fried food» box with korokke, yakitori, etc. There is also a small self-serve bar of freshly made items like hijiki salad, fried tofu age, Compact but well stocked, and there is usually sales outside in front of the store! Bonus!

This is an excellently excellent place. You’re greeted in japanese as you go into the shop which I think is a lovely touch. It’s got all manner of japanese food and lots of fresh veg. There are noodles, sauces, frozen dumplings and finally a lovely bit at the end that sells shellfish and fresh fish and the best bit of all — you can go and choose your sashimi from the available fish and they cut it all up and package it up for you with the ginger and the wasabi. My only complaint would be that all of the packaging is in japanese, so unless you’re already familiar with everything, it can be hard going trying to figure out what everything is. Of course you can always ask but I’d be forever asking the staff questions!

When I need my seaweed salad fix, I head to Atari-ya. They sell loads of fish products and have a fish monger in the back of the store but I am only interested in the seaweed salad, freeze dried mushrooms, and tofu. If you are in the market for instant noodles(the Uni food of champions) or Japanese speciality products this store has it for you. I personally can’t help myself and eat the seaweed salad as soon as I leave the store with disposable chopsticks. When you leave the staff always smile and wave and say goodbye in Japanese. Good times.
