WHAT I LOVED:
Décor — The restaurant could use some updating and refurbishing at some point; however, for a chill spot with the fellas or a place to grab a quick bite, it’s still perfect.
Food — Perfect! I’m not a big Fufu person so I always get the Banku and either Palmnut or Peanut Soup! Yum! They also provide a water dish so you can eat the Banku and soup with your hands! (the traditional way :-D). If you’re not too adventurous and want to stick to something more neutral, the Jollof Rice and Tomato Stew is always a safe bet and is delish every time. I think they also have a few Caribbean options too.
Culturally, I find Ghanaian food to be on the spicy side, so be careful if you have a weak stomach.
Service — Always 100%
I think Baba may be the owner and every time I’ve come over the past 5 years, he’s been here and has always been very lovely.
Ambience — Great place to come and watch football with the local Ghanaians. It’s vibrant and loud, very fun and usually feels like a family atmosphere.
Location — Very convenient for South Londoners. Just down the road from Norbury Station, or right at the Tylecroft Road 109 bus stop.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH:
Décor — Really it would be nice for the restaurant to be renovated, but the costs associated with that may be too high at this point. Even still it truly deserves 5 stars. Great find!

Baba is the most friendly, helpful and accommodating host any customer would want. The food is delicious. For those who are not familiar with African cuisine, Baba will patiently take his time to describe the ingredients of each dish. Personally, whoever I have taken to BF for the 1^st time always ends up going there time & time again. The food is delicious, and the ambience is wonderful. I’m an partial to the Peanut soup with white rice balls & I wash it down with a cranberry juice & GreyGoose Vodka. Or, I may have a Black Velvet (Guinness with Palm Wine) whatever the dish or the beverage, one thing can be certain. I will always leave full & with a smile on my face! Try it out, it’s Norbury’s best kept secret, and trust me, you won’t be disappointed:) A regular & loyal customer:)
