It’s a really lovely place to relax and see a film, but you have to be invited by a member or be a member yourself. The room next to the Reception is often hired for private drinks parties, which I have been lucky enough to attend. However, on this occasion I am here to see BAFTA2015: a Year in Pictures — a wonderful exhibition of photos taken at British film awards, and at BAFTA events. The photos of the stars are really natural and informal, and are displayed on the walls around the lower bar and upper bar areas, and the upper gallery and the boardroom. Loved the ones with Robert Downey Jr, he is always messing about and being playful. Also you can get really close to a BAFTA, it’s not life size but huge like a large scuplture. The exhibition allows you into the BAFTA boardroom. It’s not often you can go into those places. The Bar is very expensive though. They were serving breakfast, and a croissant was £2.50, which I thought was quite dear.

First time here and its a fantastic way to watch a film in the UK film world’s Hollywood. We went to watch the nspcc bafta Paddington bear screening which started off with a champagne afternoon tea You can hire or attend events here or just go to watch a film Definitely recommended experience to feel part of the movie rat pack

Favourite film venue in the whole of London. The audience is comprised of genuine film fans, so you won’t have to put up with annoying sounds of people eating pop corn or slurping their Coke. The only issue is that you either have to be a member or friends with a member.

This place is a serious Euphoria for those who are members of any film and television company. I’ve only been inside twice and the dinning and drinks are out of this world, I mean really they were. I’ve actually met the film actresses, Melissa George and Charlize Theron inside the BAFTA Head Office.

Good coffee and a great venue for meetings in the West End. Best tables are at the back.

I’ve been here twice now. Once for a chat over a cup of coffee with a friend who’s a member and, more recently, to attend a Best of British comedy lunch charity event. Food and drink are okay but that’s not the appeal of Bafta. Both times I visited, I was chuffed to be where I was. It’s a great location that’s comfy and accommodating with a cool buzz about it. Neither time did I chance upon any mega-slebs but it during the comedy lunch there were entertainers with whom I was familiar. And just the possibility of catching a glimpse of someone super famous and thinking about all the big name people who’ve passed through the doors here was neato.

I agree with filimbouk this is a great place, especially on a screening night as it’s always chocked full of interesting film/actor types. People watching is a must! The bar area has a minimal feel to it with leather sofas, white décor and floor to ceiling glass windows. However I have to point out though there are not enough ladies toilets to accommodate the rush post screening. But on the plus side it does have the most comfortable cinema seats which is important when you are a fidget bum like me.

Nice place to visit or pay to be a member. The screening room is a large cinema space, about 200 seats. The bar area is enormous, but don’t just settle near the bar, as there are seats further along round the corner, more secluded, leathery and comfortable. There is free internet for members, a little library for members, and chess draughts and backgammon sets. Nice view over Piccadilly.
