I went to Vietnam twice. The first time I went to Laos too. The other time I went to Thailand. I would have stayed for longer. It’s a great country.

So enroute to pin down pizza pilgrims in Berwick street, I walked past banh mi 11 from oxford street towards chinatown, before i got to Pizza Pilgrims at the end of Berwick Street Market. At the time, it was like sophie’s choice, heart-breakingly hard decision to make. Pizza or Banh Mi. I went for the the former. However, I FIIIINAAAALLY got my butt back down there today to try the banh mi.(I’ve kept bookmarks on their website for WEEKS) and I was not disappointed. Banhmi11 offer 6 different baguette fillings and also phở broth. I opted for the imperial BBQ pork which was lovely and spicy with VERY fresh herbs and veggies. They also offer crackling pork, opladi steak, fish-q, chicken lemongrass and tofu fillings. The staff were super friendly and had a really quick turnover.(but with a smile on their face– it’s sunny, don’t be grumpy-no, this is not a dig at chinatown staff. ok. maybe it is.) I’ll admit, £5 for a baguette is a even more expensive than EAT or PRET but their banh mi offerings are shite.(They(EAT) need to fix their chilli sauce, this one is hot enough where you can taste the sauce, as opposed to burning my tongue off and losing my tastebuds. I’ll take one point off because they don’t offer vietnamese coffee. That would have gone down like a dream with my crusty fresh banh mi!
