Waitress had a bad attitude when I asked to pay the service charge separately. I didn’t think the service was equivalent to the 12.5% service charge and wanted to tip less. Paid it in the end anyway and she dramatically switched her attitude to very accommodating. But, the food was good.

Food was superb! The only thing better was the service. Very friendly and accommodating. We were rushing to get to a show and they got our food out quickly.

Its a big place and service isn’t always reliable but if you mention that you would like them to be more attentive, they make effort to redeem themselves. Décor is… nothing special. Food is good. Lasagne is very good and veal is pretty yummy. Pizza is ok but had far better in so many other places. Tiramisu is pretty delicious. Pasta dishes are generous and lovely. Atmosphere is usually busy and vibrant.

Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in London! The food is absolutely amazing and with the high amount of staff, the service is alway fantastic. Would highly recommend any of the seafood dishes.

Great spot for dinner! We were exhausted from traveling and were craving some carbs so we looked up nearby Italian restaurants and were so happy with this choice. Service was super fast and welcoming. The homemade bread was served hot and was SO delicious, hit the spot after a long day! I chose the linguine with red sauce, mussels, clams, squid, and prawns. It was the perfect portion, not too big, and I was extremely pleased. Would definitely recommend!

Looking for an Italian restaurant after shopping in Topshop on Oxford Street, I stumbled across this restaurant on Unilocal. It was filled with Italians and very busy for lunch, which is always a good sign. There are two floors– I was seated in the basement, which was a bit dark for a sunny day in London but upstairs was full. Service was very prompt, with about 2 minutes of ordering my started it appeared in front of me. I had the burrata, which is like a super creamy mozzarella and really fresh. I then chose the Saltimbocca Alla Romana, which is basically thin slices of veal with Parma ham and a sage leaf, in a white wine sauce. It was cooked to perfection and came with mangetout and sautéed potatoes. Couldn’t fault the food– it’s a traditional family style Italian restaurant– the food is simple with big portions, don’t expect any fancy presentation or drawing on the plate. Great spot for lunch. recommend.

It’s been over a year since visiting this awesome restaurant with my friend, and i’m quite angry at myself for not having been back since! Here’s why… The Service: Excellent, welcoming, a friendly and efficient waiter The Food: Delicious, perfectly sized, especially having arrived within 5 minutes of placing our order The Atmosphere: quaint, warm, and even though it’s a small restaurant, it doesn’t feel too crowded I had the pepperoni pizza, and it was beautiful. A perfect consistency throughout, with a lovely crisp and crunchy crust, not too heavy, and a flavour that left me simultaneously wanting to slowly savour each particle and devour the next slice. The waiter was always taking great care of everyone and even gave us free shots as we left. According to their website, Bar Remo has been a family run business for over 90 years — keep it up people and you’ll be in business for another 90, and 90 after that! I’m very much looking forward to returning to this fine establishment! Not for the free shots, they were a bit too sugary lemony for me: P

Best lasagna I ever had. Must try. Friendly waiter from Portugal. He even went so far as to help us find good English food around town.

EXCELLENT! Delicious food today at Bar Remo. We went for an early dinner after shopping on Regent Road and found this gem. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was out of this world. We started with a couple of antipasti & portions were very good. The main event was the pasta and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The pasta frutti mare is fresh and best fish pasta I’ve had in years. Also had the fusili with salsiccia & pecorino and it was to die for. Although we are tourists visiting London, this place attracted locals and tourists alike & no one ever made you feel like an outsider. Highly recommend this place!

2nd night in a row. The owner greeted me at the door and welcomed me back, impressive, I was in last night, but only briefly met him on his way out for the evening. I had the insalata tricolore appetizer and I decided on the special for the evening, the Tagliatelle Pesto Rosso a tagliatelle pasta with red pesto, pine kernel nuts, sundried tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and Parmesan cheese. Both were fantastic! Such an amazing place! The ambiance is perfect. All the wait staff that I’ve seen so far are italian and speak the language well to each other. My waiter was younger and said, «sir please excusa me, relax, take your time and enjoy. I know this isa hard in London, but try here. Please no rush here. Well said, excellent food and company! Next time I’m in London I’ll be back and bring my colleagues with me.

Was hopeful for this establishment when I saw such a high star rating for this restaurant. Having booked a table here, and it would seem you should on a Thursday night as it got very busy, we were shown to one at the back of the restaurant. I thought is a little bit strange to be seated here as it was right by the cooking and service area. So whilst nice to see the pizzas cooking, was a little distracting to have the waiting staff constantly coming near you to pick up the food. To the extent that on one occasion when the waitress was getting one of the plates, some of the chips fell down the back of one of the customers!!! I ordered what I thought was an Italian sausage pizza but I must not have read the menu properly as what I received was a pizza base covered in cheese(no tomato sauce) with the sausage and mushrooms on top. Whilst I love cheese, I did miss the tomato. Note to self, don’t assume pizza will have tomato base and read the menu properly. All that cheese was rather too much for me. We had a bottle of the house white with our meal which was ok actually. Our waitress was a little abrupt and not necessarily helpful or welcoming. Once I had finished dessert, we go the bill put on the table and was told to take our time! Was this a hint! I know they were busy but felt this was a little rude so ordered another glass of wine and took my time which, not sure went down too well. Getting talking to another customer we were told that usually the staff are very good and the lady we had serving us must have been new. They frequented the restaurant so will take their word for it. Whilst I would not rush back, I would not never go again either just maybe opt for something different to eat. My fellow diner said her pizza was very good.

Excellent Italian food in this traditional restaurant. Been visiting Bar Remo for about 2 years now and the location is perfect for shopping/theatre trips! The range of pasta is huge and the pizzas are made in the restaurant in a proper pizza oven. Would definitely recommend.

So man Italians … all over London … and many are nice and many are original and many have a good pizza. I agree, but I’m writing a review about this Italian today and … yeah, it is nice and it has an original feeling and the pizza is very good. What else to say? The waiters all seem to be Italians and also I find them charming, some of my friends found them over the top, but it is always fun and never annoying. The service is very good and they always very helpful. The food is classic and tastes nice. The prices are very reasonable and they do not try to rush you out of the door after your meal. I have been here several times with different friends and everyone liked the food and we never had any reasons to complain. I think that is enough to make it a good restaurant.

Came here for a working lunch as it is just around the corner from my office(anything to get out of work, lol) The portions are big enough to stuff you without starters(be ready to take a nap after ur meal!), and the prices aren’t too bad. For me though, the acid test I always use for newly found italian restaurants is the lasagne. This time around, I’m afraid the place disappointed. Too tomatoey and not enough meat for my liking. But a decent lunch as a whole.

It was a tube strike day, there was rain threatening, and our bus was nowhere to be seen, even though there was an endless supply of every other number at the stop. We decided a food break was the thing to remedy the situation and hoped by then public transit would have regained sanity. We deliberated a moment or two in front of this typical little pizzeria, until the waittress inside popped her head out and gave us a friendly nod, «a come on-a! It’s-a colda outta side, ah!» Italians are a funny thing to me in London, as they all sound exactly like that stereotype you see in the cartoons serving meatball spaghetti, rather than the more west side story accent I know in NA. Anyhow, the staff was friendly and quick, and the restaurant, although typical was cute and warm, with a screen for watching footie but keeping a little romantic streak. We both ordered pizza, although we really ought to have shared one. I suppose we might be more peckish than most people, but there was more than enough. My margherita was quite satisfing in the Italian style tradition, and my girls’s more adventurous selection seemed good as well, although to be honest, was nothing so stunning as to warrant adulation, and could have been more delicate if I was going to be snobbish. But it hit all the right notes for normal prices, so we left in good spirits for the upcoming transit fight.
