Went to barcode on fridays fitlads, it really is å Fantastic space. What i like about it is the staff are very professional and friendly you always get service with å smile it has an american nyc feel to the place. The space has two dance areas with bar areas to cruise and chat in and an upstairs darkroom. The guys are hot å mix of people from all around the world lots of latin and brazians.

OK, this place is very much a matter of individual taste I think. For me personally it’s a pretty hideous, über-commercial and trashy gay bar with loud(and largely rubbish) commercial dance music pumping out all hours. Some people may enjoy this, I really don’t for the most part(slightly less bothered when amazingly drunk). The outside terrace is a bonus in decent weather. In summary. If you are gay, spend a lot of time in the gym, enjoy wearing vests and commercial dance music you may well love this place. If not then head to the RVT.

Love Barcode, wish we had one in Brighton. They could teach some of the bars down here some tricks.

I visited this place on a saturday nightentrance fee of about £5 or £6 applied. It has two bar areas on the ground floor, the front was playing commercial house music and is a nice place to sit/stand, chat and watch the people come and godown the corridor is a cloak room which at the time was busy and attended by stroppy staff who charged twice for a jumper and jacket despite only using one hanger. Carry on down the corridor and you’re greeted by another bar and the dance floor, the Music is more adult-like with nice beats, and you get the feel you’re in a nightclub and not a disco! Go upstairs for a seating area and a glass Window which overlooks the dance floor, which is cool if you need to get away from the hustle. The clientele were mostly men and there didn’t appear to be a dress code. hot, sweaty and crowded. Both my friend and I had our drinks spilt by clumsy people walking into us and I also witnessed a girl being knocked to the floor as someone literally barged passed her. Not a bad place and I think I’d like to go back but maybe next time I’ll leave my jacket at home and arrive slightly more drunk!

Appealing to the same clientele as it’s sister bar in Soho, that of bears, skins, older guys and the more mature and relaxed, Barcode Vauxhall benefits from being in a much more modern building under the train arches. The main bar is good-looking and reasonably sized. Early evenings are great and relaxed but expect it to get packed quite early on a weekend as it attracts those who want a quick drink before moving onto some of the harder clubs nearby. Once the back area opens the place becomes quite massive with a beautifully moder upstairs area, lots of toilets and a dance-floor at the back which stays open till 4am on a Saturday. Drinks are modestly priced and the music is always superb with great DJ’s and uplifting tunes.
