Crystal Palace is blessed with second hand and Antique furniture shops of all equations. Belle Coco is by far one of the best. A beautifully presented shop with great pieces and wonderful service. In good weather the shop spills out onto the street like a market with it’s wares, enticing you to browse. New to the area and looking for some basic furniture for our new place, the Mrs and I stumbled upon this little place on our first trip up to the Triangle. It was the lovely, elaborate Egyptian style coffee tables, the kitsch French Champagne glasses, serving trolleys and large antique chests that drew us, but it was the quality, practical pieces that got us buying. We managed to get a good oak drop leaf table, exactly what we were looking for for a steal at £20. It needed a rubdown and a varnish, but it was the perfect table and a bargain. The owner kindly showed us what the best way to care for the table was and was able to do us a favour and deliver it to our place down the road for a small fee. Certainly a business that goes above and beyond. We’re going back this weekend to have a look at some chairs and look at all the pretty things we can’t afford right now.
