Excellent pub food. I am always very happy with my orders. Half price entrée’s on Monday can be very busy to make sure you book a table.

I’ve had lunch at The Bollo a few times and it has always been a great experience. The food is delicious and definitely worth the money. Quite attentive but not at all intrusive staff. I usually eat outside but I find the atmosphere inside pleasant as well. I would recommend visiting this place especially if you’re in the area.

A nice place to visit with decent menu and efficient staff. The selection of beers was also OK not extensive.

When I go somewhere, it is very important that I do not wait alot. Here what you order comes after a reasonable time.

Been there a couple of times. It is nice place, but it is not my place.

Decent menu and food served quickly. Prefer other pubs that are located closer to Chiswick High Road.

This is a lovely pub to know about but as the other reviews have pointed out, it is a little pricey for its location. However, as this is touted as a ‘pub to be found rather than stumble upon’, it would seem a little strange to go out of your way to ‘find’ it and then complain about the prices. The food is great, the welcome you receive is homely, the décor and atmosphere is comfortable and there is usually a good crowd of local people about, as well as those few people who have ‘found’ it. There is a snug little corner to relax in(not just had wooden tables and chairs) and a wonderful open fire that gets lit in the winter, which often means you have to be quick to get that little snug because it won’t be available for long. They also have a quiz night, which is a good night out, but there are some pretty clued in locals, which didn’t leave much hope for me and my troupe of culturally unaware drinkers(I include myself in that slur)

The Bollo is a hop, skip and a jump from the Chiswick Park tube stop. Approximately three minutes of walking, and there it was, shining like a beacon after my long day of overseas travel. I was starving, and without really thinking about it, I ordered the fish and chips. When the plate arrived, I was blown away. We’re not talking a couple pieces of battered cod; we’re talking an entire, flaky, gorgeous fish, golden brown and nesting on a pile of crispy fries. I tried valiantly to vanquish the thing, but to no avail. On a subsequent(and more healthy) outing, I had the pita and hummus plate, and it was lovely. My visits led to a grand discovery: Crabbie’s alcoholic ginger beer, which is my new, delightful beverage of choice. It’s spicy, light, strong and bubbly, and I am going to do everything in my power to locate a supplier in the States. The Bollo’s a beautiful bar. Everything’s shiny and well-lit, the staff is efficient and friendly, and it’s obvious from the daily specials(free BBQ, half-price entrees, quiz nights with awesome prizes, Sunday roast) that the people in charge really care about the customer’s happiness. I regret that it takes me 6 hours on a plane and hundreds of dollars to stop by.

Staff very friendly, courteous and attentive. Lovely décor and a good menu. I paid £12 for a burger which seems a bit steep. The shoe-fries were undercooked, the burger was beautifully cooked and presented but a bit bland.

Bollo is my friends local. She seems to know everyone in there which is kinda nice and welcoming. You can get a good deal if you get here before 7pm on Saturday otherwise I find this place a bit expensive food wise. It has a typical british pub menu with all the usuals and no real surprises. The ales are pretty usual with Fullers and the usual pumped beers, again nothing special. I can see why my friend likes it here though because it seems friendly and has a well local feel to it. It is off the beaten track so you get more locals in here and less passers by. There is a nice area outside where you can sit in the sun but it does allow smoking so avoid if busy.

I have been here a few times for lunch, and it’s pretty special. Perhaps the nicest, tidiest ‘pub’ I have ever been to, the décor puts most restaurants in Chiswick to shame. It has a very relaxed atmosphere, helped along by the friendly staff and great service. Eating here is a great experience, mostly because when you are eating the good food on offer, it feels like you are discovering a little secret tucked in the backstreets of Chiswick(particularly due to the lack of customers). It must get busier in the evenings, and I am told the various entertainment(from live music to pub quizzes) throughout the week attracts a crowd. It is a shame I no longer live in Chiswick, because I would definitely be a regular.

It is a penguin, no it is a pineapple! It is indeed a pineapple the symbol of The Bollo. What I love about this place is the fact that it is in a residential area, and when you go there you are bound to run into the locals, it’s nice when you recognize someone and they recognize you and small talk begins. You kind of forget that you are in such a big city were people are usually anonymous. There is only one thing I can say about the pork, mash and apple sauce: get it! The pork has its crackling bit that mixes well with the texture of the mash. It was my mum’s birthday when we went and it was a saturday(t.g.i saturday) the early bird special from 5pm-7pm meant our bill was£25(with a bottle of wine) instead of £50. They even placed a candle on our shared dessert on my request. Their cocktails are something you mustn’t forget, have a mojito, perfect amount of sugar, perfect amount of lime and mint.

The Bollo as it is known locally is situated on one of Chiswick’s back streets in a residential area which means it needs to be found rather than stumbled upon. It is a typical gastropub serving typical food — Lamb shank, steak, burgers etc and for me it was perfectly nice but in view of it not being on the High Road — you need to have a reason to go there or live in the locality. It did everything well during my visit but didn’t give me a wow factor. Starters are typically £8 and a main for £12 — which is average for the area. It has chairs and tables outside, so it is a good place to chill in the summer but for me there are better in the area. Maybe worth a visit if you wanted to take advantage of their offers — Monday madness is ½ price mains or Early bird Saturday(between 5 — 7 pm) is 50% of your total bill otherwise there is a lot of competition that you can find in abundance on the high road !

Spent many a lunchtime in the Bollo. It varies quite dramatically depending on the chef and the season, sometimes they offer good value lunches(5.95 special used to be great as well as £10 Mondays) and other times nothing. Food can be really good or mediocre. Very very busy in the evening.

As a pub, this boozer seems to offer a fairly typical service. An OK selection of beers, and decent service at the bar. It never appears to be too busy either which must be a bit of a bonus. They only had two hand pumps in operation during my last visit and they were both Greene King. I’ve eaten there twice. The first time was amazing. Fantastic food and very efficient service. A more recent visit however did not prove as successful. Our group were sat waiting for about 20 minutes before the waitress even bothered to acknowledge us. She then got our drinks wrong and appeared pretty annoyed at us for asking them to be replaced. I’m willing to accept however that we were a bit unlucky… The food was decent though. The Monkfish was a tiny bit dry but very tasty. The kofte looked very appetising and the boar sausages received favourable reviews…
