So I consider myself to be a bit of a bubble tea connoisseur. I’ve been all over Asia, Europe, and America. Finding a place that makes bubble tea how it’s supposed to be made, with soft, fully boiled tapioca pearls and just the right amount of sweetening is way more difficult than you would imagine. I’m tired of the crunchy undercooked pearls in tea drowned in sugar. It’s disgusting. Up until today, the best place I could find was called Kung Fu Tea in Chinatown, New York City. I would like to present Bubbleology with the Cooper Schuham seal of approval. This award only belongs to a select handful of businesses in the world. Bubbleology has discovered the secret science!

I’m only giving this place 4 stars because the Lychee Green Tea with Aloe Jelly was really good and I didn’t have to go to Chinatown for it. This place is on the 5th floor of Harvey Nichols which is less than a 5 minute cab ride from 45 Park Lane Hotel. So it’s location is very convenient. I get to the counter at 11:45 am and they say they don’t open til noon. Fair enough. I come back 20 minutes later and they say the tapioca won’t be ready for another 20. I went there specifically for milk tea with boba(tapioca pearls). So that was disappointing. I would have only given 3 stars for the experience but the guy did take £1 discount off my Lychee Green Tea and it was yummy. But after all that I’m still craving boba :/

Hmmm, I wanna give this place three stars but I’m bumping up to 4 due to the plain fact that I could actually find decent boba(or tapioca) here in England. They have regular boba and popping boba, I had the regular. The menu isn’t too large and it’s pretty straight forward. I love the logo and look and feel of the place, it’s cleverly put together. However, I believe they can broaden the flavor horizons and I also felt that the boba had a bit of a chalky texture to it. I got the honeydew milk tea with tapioca. The taste was pleasant but once again that chalkiness really took away from the drink as a whole. P. S. Americans, a lot of the flavors are not what we are used to lol. Like Assam, I had no idea what that was. Apparently it’s some like Indian herbal tea or something like that. I’m glad I had boba in the UK, but there’s def room for improvement.

Hitting sales with one over-caffinated Mom(hi, Mom!) leaves me thirty. THIRSTYFORBUBBLETEA. Thankfully there’s a Bubbleology on the top floor of Harvey Nichols. Express elevator, please! Lotsa options: hot and cold, milky and/or fruity. I always go for cold, and am particularly partial to the passionfruit and mango mash-up. With half-ice, plz. I really like Bubbleology tea: it’s quite sweet, but the flavour is really on-point and refreshing. I’m not the biggest fan of tapioca balls, but I like the size of Bubbleology ones best and not just because they’re of a size that makes me less paranoid about insta-death-from-choking. I ended up with 4 stars as an average: I’d give my tea enjoyment a score of 5/5, but I find the process for purchasing a 3⁄5 in this location. First, you have to queue in the small space(it’s in the food halls so during peak time it’s a frenetic environment to start with). When you finally get through to order, you then have to leave the queue to pay at the Harvey Nichols registers only to then return to the Bubbleology kiosk to collect your drink. Phew! Also, as mentioned by other reviewers, because this isn’t a stand-alone Bubbleology, freebies due to you c/o your loyalty card aren’t applicable here. WOMP. Unilocal note: I concede: no matter how annoying the purchase process is, tea pairs deliciously with people-packed shopping! Thanks for being there, Bubbleology.

It was one of the first warm days of summer and I have one thing on the mind. Bubble tea. Type it into Unilocal and what do you know, there’s a Bubbleology close by on the top floor of Harvey Nichols! Get to the building and take the express elevator up to the fifth floor. There it is, right around the corner. It’s a little strange to see Bubbleology’s trademark bright colours, chem symbols and beakers and workers in lab coats surrounded by the pomp of the rest of Harvey Nichols. But not a bad surprise, I like that they’re able to keep their unique quirkiness. We ordered bubble tea and the girl behind the counter whipped it up quickly. It was delicious and cool and just what I wanted for the warmth of the day. You actually have to pay at the Harvey Nichols counter and then bring them your receipt to the counter. My only real annoyance of this place was that I had a free bubbletea on my loyalty card(from getting enough bubble teas at other locations) and they wouldn’t take it because they’re not a normal Bubbleology stand. You have to go to one of their real shops. Still a great cool treat in an unexpected spot!

I love Bubbleogy, but I have to say that the one in Harvey Nichols is not as good as the Bubbleogy in Soho… it actually depends who is making your Tea ! Somehow I never manage to get the same person every time I go there. Also.you can’t get a free Bubble Tea with your loyalty card in Harvey Nichols; it is only valid in the one in Soho.

I’m not sure what it is but I love it! Actually, the act of Bubbleology creatively mixes teas, fruit juices or milk with tapioca balls that pop up through the over-sized straw as if to bubble up. Be careful not to choke on the balls and suck away. I’ve tried the Passionfruit and the Mango and both are good but I’m passionate about the fruit. Located on the 5th floor of Harvey Nichols, you’ll spend 3.25 or 3.75 depending on the size. No problem! You’ll be back for more from the white, lab coat adorned Bubbleologist.
