Budgens

A cause of frustration to me is that due to a lack of competition in the Southfields area I’m constantly returning to poxy Budgens. There is a similar mini-​mart nearby but not really any better, a Budgens by another name.
It’s handy that it’s there I just wish it was much better. It is just a shop to pick up bits and pieces but it can be a trial what with the narrow aisles and people. The place doesn’t need to be busy for it to be difficult to negotiate your way around but there’s always someone, some basket, something in the way.
Just about everything they sell is a little more expensive than it is in most other mini-​marts/​supermarkets and if you find something on offer then double check that this particular «offer» hasn’t expired as numerous times I’ve had problems explaining at the counter that they still have these non-​offers marked-​up.
Also, the staff may do their jobs but there seems to be a lot of them restocking most of the time adding to the aisle congestion and don’t expect a friendly service from anyone. Sometimes whoever serves me looks as if they are just tired of my crap and just want me out of the way even though I only came (begrudgingly) to buy something.
2 stars only because it’s there and provides some use for me but I can dream of the day when I no longer require Budgens.
