Unethical dental practice that delivers poor quality work Do not waste your hard earned money by going to BUPA Dental Practice, London. I paid £200 for patching up of a broken root canal wisdom tooth. It had been bleeding and getting infected due to food constantly getting stuck. It should have been extracted but I was told it could be saved. It was somehow patched up in a way that allows even more food and bacteria to collect only now I can’t get it out due to the food trap the dentist created. After about 8 weeks, i realised I had a huge problem. I was cleaning my teeth and digging around with floss when out came a hideous, large mass of pitch black decayed food. Judging by the amount, the food had been collecting there from the day the work was done. The tooth constantly releases a foul taste sort of bloody and puss like. I went to see another dentist, recognised and respected as a good holistic dentist. I was informed this tooth must be extracted. I was told that it is common protocol for dentists to provide and exchange x rays(I need to avoid radiation for medical reasons). So I called BUPA and they want to charge me for giving a copy of the X ray(which I already paid for) to the new dentist. Alternatively, they expect me a busy professional to take time out of work to travel to their office, collect it take it to my dentist and later, travel back to return it. They should be offering me a refund of the £200 I may as well have flushed down the toilet. Clearly screwing me over once was not enough. Clearly money is the priority here and not your health. So BUPA Dental Practice is now holding up my extraction, thus putting my health at risk. Don’t say you haven’t been warned.

I was quite apprehensive about trying a new dentist. Generally, I don’t trust them, but I had to find somewhere quick for emergency treatment. This place was a hidden gem for me. The staff were polite and helpful with providing clear directions on how to locate the practice. The treatment room was quite small and could have done with more room for the staff to manœuvre more easily. There was background music — a lot of it classical/classic rock, which I found pleasant. My dentist was lovely. She explained every stage of treatment and I was surprisingly comfortable throughout. It didn’t feel rushed at all! She went on to give advice — it didn’t feel pushy — and a breakdown of my bill, along with an estimate for future treatment, should I decide to come back… and I think I will!
