Do not be fooled by the friendly colors and font of their sign and the well lit colorful interior. The burrito I had was awful, barely resembling a burrito in fact. As a Californian, I take great pleasure in finding decent Mexican food here as it is one of the things I miss most about home. If i had to recommend a place, I’d say go for Chilango or Chipotle. Its really hard for me to be recommending Chipotle. I’d never eat it at home. But I’ll admit I eat it quite often here. Okay enough of my burrito snobbery ;) Burrito Café: I wasn’t going to write this review until I found a hair in my burrito. Really not cool.

The burritos are ok if you want to grab something to eat quickly that isn’t McDonald’s, but are a far cry from anything you’d call good Mexican.

4 stars for 1 major, major, reason… the salsas. They do them right. Mild is fresh and chopped appropriately(I’ve been to one place where the mild had full wedges of tomatoes… you can’t put that on a chip!) mild and hot are finely chopped and well spiced and you don’t detect ingredients that border on English fusion. Burritos were standard, but the meats looked good, fresh guacamole and a range of veg and all filled in generously. I’d come here again easily. Also, they have seasoned tortilla chips which i don’t like. I’d rather taste the great salsa than an attempt to make Doritos. They are celebrating being open for one year so they will be instituting loyalty cards. I’ll get one but I’m not exclusive!

This place doesn’t deserve a 2. OK, so they don’t treat you like family but people! They’re making freakin’ burritos! The ingredients are pretty good and fresh. What you get in terms of insides and in terms of the burrito itself is pretty good. The spicy salsa is actually spicy. I’m ok with this place and might become a regular.

If you like your giant, delicious burrito served with a side of attitude and surliness, this is your place. If you like their Facebook page you get 2-for-1, which helps dull the surly service edge. I’m not sure why anyone would intentionally go here instead of Chilango or Freebird but, if you’re hankering for a burrito and need to scratch that itch pronto and you’re outside this place, you could do a lot worse.

A decent enough build-your-own burrito place. Nothing special though. Maybe I need to brave the hot sauce.

guys, there are much better food 10 steps away from this hideous mexican wannabe fastfood restaurant. burrito is horrible, from wraps to cheese to rice, peppers, sauces. they didn’t even have peppers the last time i went. over priced and tasteless, meh, never again amigos

It’s just bad. Though I’m not a lover of Mexican cuisine, Burrito Café is local, open late, cheap, quick and simple. This should work on some level. It doesn’t. It’s just bad. Not much going on inside apart from a counter, a couple of servers and a step by step instruction guide informing customers on the stages of Burrito assemblage. This place is designed to get you in and out quickly. Which, to it’s credit, it does. Standing over the counter looking down at the chrome slop trays half filled with sad, greasy looking burrito-bound ingredients doesn’t fill me with an eagerness to complete my order and commence munching. The staff are quick and helpful(as you would expect, really) but that alone doesn’t make for a satisfactory dining experience. Eating the burrito was difficult. The wrapped up mess(and it was a mess!) had no flavours that stood out and the refried beans were so bad I had to force several mouthfuls down before giving up completely and throwing the other half away. Not a place I’ll be rushing back to. TTFN, Ian

I live near by burrito café, so i go there all the time i love their chicken burritos and recently tried the salad and it was really good! there is a wide range of burrito fillings, and bases(taco, burrito, salad, naked burrito) however, the nacho’s arent that good never dined in, but all in all the food is great, staff are nice, and price reasonable(around 4 – 5 pounds per burrito) a burrito is a healthy option! :D

The first thing that annoys me about burrito café, is that they have«REALMEXICANFOOD» printed on their awning, but the food is obviously not«REALMEXICAN.» False advertising. The beef chili burrito filling and iceberg lettuce topping are definitely not authentic Mexican. The burritos don’t travel very well. I only live a few streets away but they always get too soggy when I bring them home. I think because the tortillas are cheap. The meat is okay(except the chili) but the tortillas are awful and they either don’t fill your burrito at all, or they overfill it so it falls apart when they roll it. Once I tried to order the mini burritos off the menu and the whole staff was super confused about if they even sold mini burritos. When they finally realized they did have them, nobody knew how to roll one, so they just sort of smashed a lump of meat and tortilla into aluminum foil. It was really gross

I didn’t know what burrito was but it is a wrap containing meat rice and beans etc. so quite a healthy option. This is hard to find in fast food. Tasty and good value. Recommended.
