Stopped here for dinner only because it was convenient. My train came in to St Pancras and my husband had to leave from Kings Cross. It was raining quite heavily and we didn’t want to walk anywhere. We were hoping for a quick meal, so he could catch an earlier train. My battery and battery bank had died, so this was the option we saw before us for a hot meal and we took it. I ordered the focaccia with garlic and butter and a spaghetti. The bread was soaked in butter and had no flavour. the tomato sauce was tasteless, as were the meatballs. Husband opted for the 3 course meal plan. The pâté wasn’t bad, but the ravioli had no flavour. The only dish that was good, was the panacotta. Given this is our third bad experience at Carluccio’s,(less than average food at Covent Garden and absolutely horrendous«service» at Hampstead) I think we should just give up.(I must mention that I loved Carluccios when living in Dubai and the outlet in Pinner was good) Service was terribly slow, which is ridiculous for a restaurant inside a train station where everyone is obviously on a time constraint — why else would you eat inside a train station? The waiters were polite and responsive, it’s just that each course took so much time to arrive. The meal took an hour and a half. Fortunately husband was on a flexible ticket else he would have had to leave without even his main course.

In terms of location, this place is superb to meet friends. Convenient in the sense you don’t have to actually go outside the station and brave the rain, and actually pretty quiet since it’s on the upper concourse and away from the crowds. Service for brunch was pretty slow but I *loved* the heaters that reminded me of SoCal pool parties. There’s a fair amount of choice and I liked the apricot toast option, though they kinda cheated by giving us normal bread for half of the portion. Displayed prettily though, and we hung out for over two hours without feeling rushed :) For a chain spot, this is about as good as it gets!

This is a very busy branch. We went early Saturday evening two weeks ago. The starter arrived 30 minutes after we had ordered. Calamari was very greasy and Chicken Liver Pâté was runny and came with cold toast. Fettuccini Meatball tasted like cardboard, and Calves Liver was almost raw. It’s a shame they served bad food at this busy International station and damaged the reputation of British food. Luckily we had a friendly waitress, but a couple of the waitresses looked steely.

Bonne cuisine simple et rapide. Personnel très agréable. 2 cadres possibles: dans le restaurant ou sur la terrasse, qui est dans la gare.

Pretty fast service and very convenient after you get off the train at kings X/St. Pancreas and hungry. The set menu is quite basic and good price so my expectation is set just so. The food isn’t amazing but I really wasn’t expecting it to be.(Chicken liver pâté with toast to start, chicken Milanese for main and panna cotta for desert for I think £15) We were sitting out in the courtyard so cool to people watch!

Was too tired to venture far away from St. pancreas station but sure wish I did. The pasta was sub par and flavorless. Had to basically season heavily with salt and pepper to make it edible and the sauce was grainy. The garlic bread was soggy. The only reason it’s getting two stars is because it’s relatively inexpensive and a quick meal.

Pluses: inexpensive prix fixe menu Attentive service Good drinks Great garlic bread Good dessert Nice«patio» Minuses: ravioli in butter sauce-fairly tasteless ravioli in a stick of melted butter Main course rather slow to come out. One plate was too hot to eat and one was tepid.

Excellent service! More like I’m used to in the states, where the server checks on you multiple times and makes sure you have everything you want, instead of just to take your order and collect the payment. We had Focaccia and olives as appetizers, which came out quickly. And for our Mains we had sea bass and breaded chicken. Both were excellent.

Coming back again I had expected to receive better service and the food to be cooked well, since they do say Carluccio’s is ‘The place for Italian food’. But nothing has changed. The staff are lazy. Standing around the till and chatting seems to be the most important thing on their agenda. The food that I ordered was watery and the waitress milled the black pepper all over me instead of the food. Honestly I’m so disappointed. This is on my black List for sure.

Uninspired menu. Expensive selections and not worth it to come for bland food and sh*tty customer service.

I have a love-hate relationship with Carluccios. I love their garlic bread. The arancini is ace. They do a deep fried smoked mozzarella starter special that gets me there every time they have it. There’s a restaurant by work and one by home so it’s super convenient. I hate their pasta. There’s al dente and then there’s hard — and Carluccio’s is always hard. On this occasion, there was a tortellini special — filled with prosciutto in a cream sauce. It was right up my street so I took the plunge, thinking that it wouldn’t be as hard as the raviolis(which I honestly do not eat any of except for the pillow part — all the ends have to be hacked off and thrown away. I never learn). Unfortunately, they were still pretty firm. The food came so quickly that my drink hadn’t even arrived — it was literally 5 minutes from ordering to food in front of me. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so I’m not sure why the chef didn’t think I’d want my pasta cooked. The sauce wasn’t a sauce but some liquidy cream that was too runny to stick to the pasta at all, and there were bits of fatty bacon or ham in the sauce(too thick to be prosciutto). The flavour of the actual pasta was nice, but not any better than I can get from the supermarket, and cooked juuuusssttt enough to be edible. The garlic bread was, as ever, killer. The service is fine but I know from past experience that sending my food back doesn’t result in anything other than getting a new plate of food that’s cooked the same way. I’ve been to Italy more than once, I eat out all the time, and Carluccios just don’t do pasta like anywhere else. Oh well, back to sticking with my arancini!

Never knew there was a restaurant on this section of the station! When my friend suggested we meet here for dinner as her train was arriving in the evening, I went completely to the other side! Best way to get up there is to take the lift near the entrance of the south side of the station. Like any Carluccio’s, it’s okay. Not to bad, not the best you’ll find around town but it’s consistent as you’d expect any chain. It’s a decent place to eat at reasonable prices. I wanted something light last night so ended up ordering the prosciutto with mozzarella. It is a good starter portion.

I had a Bruschetta starter that was bland and uninspired. My wife’s pâté was good though. My main course was awful. I’d forgotten what spam tasted like until I ordered the«Italian Sausage» at this place. I got 3 thin slices of round spam-like stuff. Horrible. My Wife’s pasta was pretty good. After paying our 60 pound check I went downstairs to the grocery to find something to eat.

£8.50 for six ravioli in butter. Once they get around to giving me the rest of my lunch, I’ll get around to giving you the rest of my review.

sitting in the«outside» tables was great with the heaters keeping me toasty. The waitstaff was fantastic brining the 8 year old guest I had spagetti bolognese, even though it wasn’t on the menu. Very convenient for me as I live at St Pancras and a pretty good value for decent Italian food in the cool atmosphere of St Pancras station with people bustling about to catch the Eurostar or other trains. The house wine was fine and the pasta, while not outstanding was still really good.

The reasons this place isn’t getting 5 stars is because the heating lamps at our original table were broken, and we weren’t informed of this when we were seated at an «outside» table. It also took nearly 15 minutes for us to even get our drink orders in, and by that time, we were ready to order our food. My partner and I split the trio of pasta, getting the wild boar meat sauce, the lasagna, and the spaghetti with meatballs. The first two were amazing! The last one, was a bit of a let down. You’d think, at an Italian eatery, that they couldn’t mess up spaghetti with meatballs, but it wasn’t as good as it should’ve been… or as you’d think, rather. Our friend had the venison ravioli which she said was amazing. Prices for drinks weren’t too bad either, just wish they were better labeled. There was nothing that said anything about the types of beer that they had, it wasn’t until I was told by the waitress that I even knew that Peroni WAS Italian beer. Oh well, it was still good. Took nearly another 20 minutes for us to be noticed after the meal to pay. Prices weren’t too horrible, and the atmosphere was nice. When we pointed out that the heating lamps were off, and they said they were broken, we were offered another table that had working lamps. So they get a 4 out of 5.

We ate here on our last night in London because it was close to our hotel. I’m glad we did! I had the chicken Marsala and it was cooked perfectly. Great flavor on the outside and really juicy on the inside. Our servers were a little spazy, funny at sometimes, others kind of annoying. Altogether good though! Go before their summer menu ends :)

Normally fund this a good chain for tasty Italian food. However, the branch at St Pancreas was a real disappointment. Dry almost burnt lasagne is unforgivable — very slack standards indeed. 0⁄10 with so much choice at the station avoid at all costs!

After flying in from Texas I had a three hour wait at St Pancras and found the perfect spot. They were not serving lunch for 25 more minutes but let me camp out a table ‘outside’ with a glass of tap water and a good book whilst I waited. I had the set lunch for under £10 for two courses. The choices were varied and the food was very good. I had to send the ravioli back as it was under cooked. The waiter tried to convince me this was a cultural difference and it was just that I was unused to al dente. I politely pointed out that al dente does not translate to mostly raw, very chewy. Were it not for that slight glitch I would perhaps have added another star. An al dente one.

After getting to St Pancras, I had an hour to kill before my train was to leave, so I thought i would have a quick dinner with my sisters. I decided to dine at Carluccios as it was perfectly situated for my needs– I needed something easy, quick and cheap. It was also located just outside the elevator on the second floor, so I had no trouble finding my way to the train platforms afterwards. After entering the restaurant, I was greeted by very friendly waiters, who catered to my needs throughout the meal(they were very speedy) As I didn’t have time on my side, I opted for the buffalo mozzerella salad, which came with only a slight delay, and was delicious. My younger sisters, both being 15 but looking slightly younger, got away with the children’s menu for £5.95(what a coup!) and had the lasagne and the ravioli — both I tried, and were equally good. In the children’s meal deal they also got a soft drink and a lovely little pot of ice cream each, it was very good value.

This is such a good restaurant, and you’d think being in a major international train station it would be heaving but it’s always been really quiet! It’s great, a not cheap but it’s quality you’re getting. And not just quality of food, the service is amazing too. I was guided easily through the menu and it was like having my own personal restuant-shopper! The staff member I had was really good, and helped with explaining what all the fresh food out was. There was such a good shop too, I just had to buy some presents! What a great experience, I strongly recommend it. The food’s great too, did I mention?
