This place rules. The prices on professional quality art supplies are great and the selection is really good, especially considering the shop’s small size.
They basically cut out the crap and sell the good shit actual artists want at a decent price.
They do still carry nicer student watercolors (like Cotman) if you just want something to mess around with out in the city but professional level isn’t what you’re after.

I needed some sketching materials in a hurry as I was desperately trying to boost my drawing skills to prepare for Dr Sketchy London. The staff at this shop were very helpful and found me everything I wanted — I also noticed them advising other customers. I’m sure you could get some supplies cheaper online, but if you need friendly advice, ask here.

So I’ve mentioned my love of an arts and crafts shop quite a few times here, and my stumbling upon Cass Arts yesterday brought me more joy than I could imagine. One of those tiny art shops jam packed with all things pencil, paint, paper, and palette-​y, I spent a very cheerful half an hour selecting a range of coloured cardboards to take home to make birthday cards with. Joy.

As an artist/​designer this shop is a haven of bargains, good deal and quality materials. The amazing thing about art supplies is that they last a really long time when proper care is taken.
I have bought plenty of things over the years and they are all in excellent condition, charcoal, drawing pads, oik paints, acrylic paints, letraset markers, chalk (oil/​dry) and so much more can be found in the shop. It is more often than not very busy, to be expected when their stuff is usually so cheap and at the moment they have a sale of up to 85% off! They even a price guarantee were if you find an item cheaper in any other shop in London they will match the price and beat it. That is good.
It is more often than not very busy, so go with time and travel light, as the shop gets crowded and the space isn’t very big. They’ll give you a handy black ‘Cass Art’ bag to put all your stuff in! (say no to plastic)

This is a handy little art supply shop selling all the basics plus a wide range of paints. Managed to bag a whole load of cheap paper here the other day. Have a good look through what they have at the back, as it’s all prices differently. Gets a bit cramped in here at times because it’s so small, but good range of items on sale.
