Centrally located; fairly clean. Toilet spaces are built out of plywood right inside your room(if you can afford to get a room with a toilet) and if you are 5’3″ and over, you can’t use the toilet without your knees sticking out – they are that small. And you had to watch your head if you were to step inside the 2.5′ x 2/5′ shower. Some use hallway bathrooms and showers – which are about 3′ x 3′. No shampoo provided.

If you stay at this hotel, make sure to pack light because there’s a chance you’ll have to climb up four flights of stairs to get to your room. However, this hotel is less than a block from the Russell Square Tube station and centrally located in London. Their English breakfast from 7:30−9ish is also great.

Another great 2 stays at the Celtic. This little hole in the wall is our favorite little semi-hostel level hotel in London and always welcome after a 9 hour flight from Denver. Wonderful breakfast, great service, comfortable beds and a friendly staff. Plus, the location and neighborhood are as good as it gets for central London. Less than 1 block from the tube and 5 minutes’ brisk walk to Kings Cross, Euston and St Pancras National Rail lines. Plus, literally 50 restaurants within a couple of blocks, grocery stores, anything you want. Safe neighborhood close to the British Museum as well.

Spent time there this Christmas season and really enjoyed the rooms, lounges, breakfast and general«feel» of the place. This feels like a family hotel and the family that owns it understands exactly who its clientele is and how to make them feel at home. Hope to be back many times. It has the convenience and comfort of Russell Square. I wish they weren’t so squeamish about credit cards, but this imperfection is easily tolerated.
