Wandering down Church Street leaves you wanting to try any number of adorable cafes, especially on the rare day with nice weather. By the time we had wandered all the way to the end of Church St, we were ready for a snack. Cema was not very crowded, but it looked clean and well kept, so we decided to give it a try. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly and the décor was lovely and relaxing. Service was quick but it was clear that most ingredients were very fresh. Fresh salad that was really nice was on both of our plates. I had falafel and my partner had eggs benedict. The eggs were made pristinely well, though the ham was not the best. The hummus, gherkins, and salad were delightful on my plate, but I wasn’t a fan of the falafel. I should have gone for the avocado, tomato, mozzarella and basil sauce ciabatta like I had intended. Still, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. It’s very affordable, as well — under £20 for the two of us. Portions are a very generous size. There was a wine list, but I can’t recall what other alcohol they had available.
