To quote the website. «C4RD welcomes submissions from those with a particular interest in drawing as a core experience from within and outside the arts. It seeks a balanced programme of working with art journalists, therapists, collectors, critics, curators, artists, designers, draughters, architects, creatives and institutions in group and individual presentations to present a broad variety of possibilities in drawing. C4RD is staffed and funded by the generosity of individuals and private and corporate donors, and is a UK Registered Charity.» A good friend of mine had an exhibition here recently and it’s a really nice space. Yes it’s really tiny but it’s a very interesting gallery and has some incredibly fun exhibitions. Check their websites for whats on, but it’s definitely worth the trip.

Well it’s a gallery, but its very very small, unless you are already in Highbury and Islington or know of the artist in residence I would not make the trip for the exhibitions. This is a place for artists who specialize in drawing to experiment and help build their portfolio and gain representation. This gallery is more for the artist than for visitors. I was more impressed with the website than with the gallery. Of course the difference between seeing art on a website and seeing it in person is always remarkable. So first view the website and if you are interested in a particular artists from the community page that you would like to add to your collection then do make the effort to visit the gallery.
