I was really surprised about this place and thought it would be overated but actually it is pretty good! All the 70′ 80′ kids will be delighted by all the collectibles(from series or cartoons) Obviously you would come for a bowl of cereal of your choice and depending of the size of the bowl you choose, you could mix many of them. I had mine with warm milk and went for some chocolate frosties and it was yummy. You can be more adventurous and try their already made mix or even ask for some suggestions. Small bowl is at 3£

Popped in for some cereal. Came out with more smiles on a dreary Tuesday. I still prefer the Camden interior and space but this original café is still very good. I really do like that it is a niche product and one that is interesting in providing fun first and foremost.

I LOVETHISPLACE. It is just so much fun! Staff are friendly, helpful and give customers time to choose their cereal(there is so much choice) and patiently explain the concept to all the newbees. I last visited on a Sunday about 11am and it was the first time I had had to queue. It went down quickly though(cereal doesn’t take to long to prep) and there was plenty of seats as there is such a fast turnaround. It was Halloween weekend so they had decorated, staff were dressed up and they had some cool spooky Halloween cocktails on offer. However since my last visit they had added more cocktails to the normal menu and there was one I just had to try; The Sticky Monkey. It was great — toffee crisp cereal, sliced banana, whipped cream, crushed digestive biscuit and caramel sauce with banana milk. Amazing! Only thing is be careful of your biscuits as they go soggy quickly(which I don’t like). I also shared a pop tart with my bf which was my first go. They had run out of the peanut butter one I wanted to try but we went hot fudge sundae — was pretty good but not blown away. I also tried a peanut butter latte which was quite nice and glad I went flavoured as I think the coffee is the only average thing about this place(my bfs was flat white was average). My bf went for a medium bowl combo of crunchy nut clusters, count chocolate and malt waders with caramel milk, Mmmm. That’s the other thing I love — you can do your own mix and match! In total it all came to £12 which for a big old breakfast out and a tonne of fun is well worth it. Can’t wait to come back!

I know that people might think this café is overrated, but I can assure you, it’s not! I really enjoy going here. When I heard that London was getting a cereal bar, I thought«how weird». But then I went, and thought it was genius. Where else can you find your favorite cereal? Cereal Killer Café offers cereal from all around the world in addition to pop tarts and really wacky toppings like crushed Oreo cookies and marshmallow fluff. They also have all kinds of milk, including almond milk for those super healthy/lactose challenged customers. I’m afraid I am boring and predictable, as I order the same thing: Captain Crunch with skim milk. I always get a large bowl — it doesn’t make sense to get anything less! Also, you can mix and match cereals and go crazy! The prices are a little high, but you go for the experience and the cereal selections.

Walking down for brick lane street we found this awesome bar. Is small inside, maybe there’s something downstairs… but we stayed in the ground floor. It’s not an usual breakfast bar, it’s more like what you usually get at home for breakfast! Milk with cereals! Every kind of cereals you can imagine! We took a simple cappuccino and believe me, I’m Italian, that cappuccino made me forget the Italian one!

I’d been wanting to bring my sweet-toothed boyfriend here for months since I saw my friend post a ridiculous picture of her«breakfast». We had looked at the menu online beforehand to get ourselves excited, but I have a rule about not choosing what to eat before you get to somewhere so I decided to wait and see the menu when I arrived. The only issue is there wasn’t much of a menu at the actual café; they had a blackboard up with lots of combos but unless you knew what you were doing, it was very hard to know all the options. I made a rash decision to go for a ready made combo of the mint chocolate dish with a happy hippo on top just because I could(!) and my boyfriend chose a Lion inspired one. We got a Pop Tart on the side(obviously) and some sugar sweet berry Fanta. By the time we ate it was actually 12 midday, but this is probably a good thing considering the huge intake of sugar that we consumed in such a short period of time! The café isn’t very big with limited seating so I imagine it gets lretty busy. Luckily we got a seat downstairs, surrounded by all the quirky cereal memorabilia which gives the place such a nice touch. It’s very expensive breakfast, but definitely worth it for the experience. My main recommendation is to choose from the online menu beforehand.

Before I came here I was pretty skeptical because of the obvious question: how good can cereal get? Especially when I’m not usually a fan of cereal… Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised. I came here on a Sunday morning at around 10 am and it seemed like we had just beat the crowd, since the line started getting long after we came. I wanted something light since I would be getting afternoon tea later that day, so I ended up going for a small bowl of Cheerios with almond milk and blueberries. They prepared my bowl right away, and I appreciated how they put the milk in a separate jar — I like pouring in my milk in smaller portions because I’m a slow eater and if I don’t, the cereal gets soggy. What I ordered sounds simple enough, but it was surprisingly satisfying. I can’t say it was anything special, but it was definitely a solid breakfast. I only wish they put more blueberries, especially since it’s an extra cost — I expect to get more than 10(if I even got that many…). Otherwise, I enjoyed my experience here(both the concept and vibe were awesome) and I recommend a visit here if you’re in the area!

If you just see it as cereal and perhaps just have a regular bowl of cereal it might be overpriced but the cocktail cereal menu was ok all things considered. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff — one of them offered to help us out the shop with our pram even though there were two of us. I had the marshmallow submarine — who knew a Twinkie would taste nice soggy from milk! Go at an unpopular time of day, I’d say, like we did.

Thanks Unilocal for finding this gem. This is something that simply wouldn’t be real back at home. I love this area. its fun and full of specialty shops and vintage material. This shop really hit the need for a fun breakfast! You have a few options for your cereal. You can either build your own(pick which cereal you want along with size and type of milk), and then add toppings for I think 40p per topping. The other option would be to pick one of their original mixes. They hsve a lot of options to pick from. You can sit upstairs if there is room, or go downstairs for more seating. I would suggest going elsewhere for coffee. They have a few old school tvs and posters there as well. Loved it, thanks!

It’s an intriguing concept and great to embrace your inner child. They have 120 choices of cereal, from global to American to British, and it can be overwhelming to choose. They do have cereal cocktails though, which you can adjust to your tastes or just leave as is. We got a small Bowlacchino to split, which is Nesquick cereal, Coco Pops, Flake, espresso milk, and café curl(we subbed it for Twix mix). It was super, super sweet(like more sugar than I need in a lifetime), but like I said, an interesting experience. Definitely a dessert. Read more here:

I came here with friends after accidentally walking past it and into the chocolate shop next door. We went up to the counter to order our bowls of cereal. I’d recommend getting the combinations they already have on the chalkboard wall, but to each his/her own! You basically customize your breakfast bowl — size, type of cereal, toppings, and choice of milk. They offer non-traditional milks as well, such as almond, soy, and even a banana-flavored one. I didn’t get a bowl since it was sort of pricey(4 quid for a normal-sized bowl). American cereals are on one side of the wall, and British cereals are on another. They also have display shelves with vintage cereal boxes, which were pretty cool to look at. Tl;dr — expensive cereal, but a novel place to check out.

This place is awesome and such a cool concept. So many cereals from the US and the UK, including ones that I hadn’t even seen in the US since I was younger! Was lucky enough to visit on one of their less busy days(Friday morning… seems like it would be busy?), but heard the queue’s get long. I had the Peanut Butter Jelly Time, so good with the strawberry milk! I forgo my lactose intolerance for a day to have this and it was so worth it. Seriously! The vibe inside is awesome and the staff is friendly and willing to help if you want to switch anything up in their pre-made«cocktails.» Lots of vintage and retro memorabilia. Really enjoyed the Dexter«cereal» killer artwork on the wall. Definitely worth the trip out to Brick Lane!

Couldn’t have a better name because what I ate was really a sugar infused heart attack in a bowl! Reasons to go here: it’s cool, it’s quirky, it’s colourful and fun! The cereal cocktails are interestingly put together — although I didn’t love the one I chose I still think the concept is great. Reasons not to go here: to have weetabix with skimmed milk. Yes, that’s what the person in front of me ordered. Why??? If you’re going to spend £3+ on cereal don’t be boring!

I regularly have cereal for dinner at home so to be able to come somewhere where it’s socially acceptable and even encouraged is just HEAVEN. Nestle’d(geddit?) on Brick Lane, the Cereal Killer Café is unassuming from the outside, but one peak through those windows and you’ll see a magical wonderland. Seriously, it’s spectacular. The walls are covered top to bottom with cereal from times gone by, other countries and even special editions like Pokemon cereal or Star Wars. The menu is made up of those alphabet magnets you put on fridges. There are huge Dexter and Hannibal Lecter posters on the walls made out of cereal and even a collage of cereal boxes. It’s all themed and it’s AMAZING. We ordered some hot drinks while we were trying to decide what cereal to have and they brought them over and told us we didn’t have to pay until we ordered cereal, which is pretty good service. The drinks themselves were meh, but then that’s not what they do. What they DO do is cereal. You choose a bowl size and then you have a choice of either a cereal cocktail, which is a combination they’ve dreamed up, or you can go maverick and do-it-yourself. Then you choose what milk you want with it, and they have everything from skimmed to custard, almond milk, soy, everything you could ever dream of. We decided to go for a mixture of the two and custard, chocolate and strawberry milk, settling on a Double Rainbow, a Don’t Have A Cinnaman and a mixture of lucky charms, cookies and cream and fruit loops and they were all AMAZING. I wish lucky charm marshmallows were a thing in the UK. I’m in love. The presentation was spot on too. Clear bowls so you can see the brightly coloured cereal, the milk in little milk bottles and when you combine the cereal and milk, you can see the colour change in the side of the bowl. It takes you right back to your childhood for sure. And the best thing? For three bowls of cereal, two hot drinks and a poptart(because of course they do those too) it came to about £12. Cheapest dinner out in London I’ve ever had. I’ll be back!

This place is AWESOME!!! As if breakfast for dinner wasn’t good enough on its own, this place makes it even better! Dozens of kinds of cereal from the UK, USA, and all around the world combine with 30 kinds of milk for nearly endless combinations of cereal nirvana! If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even mix and match cereals into a single bowl. Their professionally-trained cereal engineers have come up with a handful of cereal ‘cocktails’ with wild combinations of cereal, flavored milk, and sweet toppings. The ensuing rush of sugar and nostalgia are helped along by the retro music and cereal art all over the walls. There’s a series of collector’s edition cereals(think movie merchandise like Star Wars Cheerios) and some awesome mosaic portraits of famous serial killers Hannibal Lecter and Dexter made entirely out of cereal pieces. Prices were really reasonable, the staff was friendly and helpful(and clearly loved their job), and the ambiance was comfortable. I can’t wait to go back again. With so many cereal combinations to try, that’s gonna be soon so I can keep experimenting with the perfect blend. Next time I might come in pajamas too(just to complete the childhood breakfast experience)!

The media had a field day when it opened, with their criticism and whatever else. But I really don’t understand why. It is a brilliant concept. Who doesn’t love eating cereal for dinner? Don’t tell me you’ve never gotten in from work, put your PJs straight on, and served yourself the biggest bowl of cereal known to man for dinner because you can’t be bothered to cook. And now you can enjoy cereal for dinner in a less antisocial kinda way! This place throws you back to the 90s, music and all. The guys that work there are super friendly and easy going. If you love cereal as much as I do then you need to get down there asap. Their list of cereals is extensive. Crazy extensive(and includes a few gluten free choices –yippee!). Then you’ve got toppings like strawberries, marshmallows, banana, chocolate drops and walnuts. Then you have all the milk(dairy and non-dairy) with the option to flavour your milk with chocolate, strawberry, vanilla and so on. Oh and I forgot to mention, you can mix your cereals!(We were rarely allowed to do that as kids… it was a treat!) Can you feel my excitement??? I love everything about it! In the end I went for a large bowl of Ricicles with marshmallows and strawberries, topped with strawberry rice milk(I actually got overwhelmed with the toppings and milk choices and forgot that I could mix cereals… nooooo)! No doubt about it, 5 stars. And to the haters? Get a life!(FYI the best way to do this is to start having breakfast for dinner — go on, have some fun).

Oooh this place gave me the biggest nostalgia hit I’ve had since finding reruns of Sister Sister on TV a few months ago! Someone must’ve spent a lifetime collecting all the 80s and 90s memorabilia on the walls — anyone else remember the plastic tiger-shaped bike reflectors from the Frosties packets?! And they even had Clarissa Explains It All showing on TV! And then there’s the cereal. The menu reads like a dentist’s worst nightmare, each item sweeter than the last. And SO much choice it’s overwhelming: 100+ cereals, 20+ toppings, poptarts, toast and just when you think you’ve cracked it, even 20 types of milk. My inner monologue was in overdrive(do I want something chocolatey? woah is that Cinnabon cereal?! maybe I should get a fruity poptart to be healthy? pah who am I kidding, ‘healthy’! hmm is chocolate milk too much?! etc etc). Luckily there’s a queue for you to make up your mind, and probably change it ten times with each new cereal box you spot. It moves fairly speedily but took a good half hour for us on a Sunday at 11ish, and was longer when we left. The most amusing part was hearing snatches of everyone else’s convo’s as they passed the ever expanding queue through Brick Lane Market(‘you mean these people are all waiting for CEREAL?!’, ‘what do you mean it ONLY sells cereal?’, ‘£3.50 a BOWL?! Why don’t they go round the corner to Tesco?’). Yes, it’s kinda ridiculous. And it’s unnecessary, and unhealthy, and completely overhyped. But it’s just so fun that I don’t care. I had a medium bowl of Reese’s Puffs, topped with crumbled Oreo cookies(at the server’s suggestion) and semi-skimmed milk, with a blueberry poptart(that I defo didn’t need) and a latte. I left feeling like I needed to brush my teeth and praying the sugar crash later wasn’t too bad and probably with early onset diabetes — but damned if it didn’t put the biggest smile on my face too :-D

Loved my experience here, but I think the novelty of the place will wear off in a few years I think. Décor is awesome, very instagram worthy. Colorful, filled with cereal boxes, quirky. Service was quite slow though. You can either choose a cereal, milk, and toppings or choose one of their cereal«cocktails», which basically means a mash up of their own creation. I went with the chocopotamous for £4.75. I forget exactly but chocolate with a side of milk. A yummy treat since I haven’t eaten cereal in a while but I wouldn’t necessarily make my way here again. Fun to visit and a «must try once in your life» but it’s just cereal in the end.

Snap, Crackle, and Pop! I’m in love with Cereal Killer Café on Brick Lane in Shoreditch. Everything about this place is just pure awesomeness! Not only is it an ultimate hipster heaven with a fun concept, it’s also a time capsule to all kinds of good childhood nostalgia. And let’s face it the walls of cereal boxes in all the colours of the rainbow just make you smile :) How it works is you start by choosing your cereal from dozens of choices ranging from classics like Captain Crunch, Apple Jacks, Coco Pops etc. to the more peculiar ones like Poppin’ Pebbles in either a small, medium or large bowl. Then you choose your milk(there’s like 20 different ones to choose from) and finally you choose your toppings. This will set you back about 4 pounds or so. Some people complain it’s too expensive, but I say it’s totally worth the experience! I ordered Lucky Charms with extra marshmallows and it was everything I wished it would be and more. So sugary and unhealthy and awesome! It was just a fun thing to do and I enjoyed it! On top of everything the staff is great or in the famous words of Tony the Tiger«they’re g-r-r-r-e-a-t»!

It’s finally time to write this review. And as I do, I have a smile plastered all over my face. It’s the same smile I felt while walking in here. Hell, while thinking about walking in here. This place is awesome. Now, you’ve probably heard the controversy, read the articles, come up with an opinion on your own before stepping through the door. Yes, it’s a cereal café. Yes, it’s filled with hipsters(or the new breed of hipsters, the«cutester» who doesn’t have to hate everything popular and will trade the cool for the fun). Yes, it’s on Brick Lane, an area with poverty and do we really need it(even though it is easily the cheapest meal on the street.) My answer to the last question is, yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Or, well, maybe. We probably don’t need it, but it’s a nice thing to have. They NAIL the fun here. From the moment you walk in and see the walls lined with classic out of date cereal boxes, from Star Wars(C3PO’s) to Jurrasic Park to Simpsons to Ghostbusters cereal, it’s a blast. On the walls are more boxes and, of course, art of serial killers made with cereal(Hannibal looks particular evil in Cheerios). There’s probably a line, but it moves quickly. Grab a menu and see what cereals they do have. There’s a giant collection from the US and England, and ones I’d never heard of before(Chocolate Frosted Flakes? Whaaaaa?) They also have flavoured milk, pop-tarts and cereal cocktails. We did two big bowls of cereal, a pop-tart and three things of milk, and the whole thing cost us £7. Amazing. Seating upstairs is limited but grab your bowl and head downstairs, which feels like someone’s cereal themed basement. Tvs on the wall show cartoons, light up cereal bowls on the table, weird cereal merchandise is everywhere. It’s retro heaven. Yes, you’re paying for cereal, an experience you could have in your home. But just like you could make a burger at home or a cocktail at home, it’s not really about what you’re doing, but where you’re doing it and who you’re doing it with. Let go of the hate, haters, and enjoy.
