It’s my favourite local café and brunch joint. A French name, but I believe the owners may be Turkish. The meals are so affordable here, and you’ll be sure to see the regular guests every time you go in. I quite like the breakfast menu, but some of their lunch specials are tasty too. A nice café with an amazing price point. I like the fact that this place stays local. I hope they don’t sell out to a chain restaurant.

I came here for a quick wrap as I had to go Royal Free Hospital and it was right nearby. I was really surprised at the taste of it. It was amazing and so tasty. The café is quite small as it only has a few tables inside & has a few tables outside. Would come back if I was in the area.

falafel was frozen and re heated as will as the bread the lasagna is actually a bechemal with meat, the attitude of the waitress was not very appealing as well

It’s the sort of café + you find in southern Europe. Somewhere between a restaurant, a café and someone’s living room. Refreshing change from the forced atmosphere and clinical ‘rustic’ charm of the done before cool cafes that spring up around here with their old wooden school chairs, farmhouse tables, chalk boards, blah blah blah. This place is an interior design disaster and all the better for it. Then there are the prices: £1 for a proper latte; £4.50 for coffee and a non-greasy English breakfast in mid-week. Friendliest waitresses in Bel size Hampstead(that really isn’t saying much everyone here is a princess or a superstar(nuff said?).

My impression of this place is quite good. It’s a little local café which is great for meeting with friends for a cup of coffee. I think the comment about the hair is no longer valid since it’s from 2010 and they must have done something about it. Anyway, the coffee shop is great and you can try it if you’re around.

Great outdoor seating. Good people watching spot. Ordered the eggs benedict with bacon. Aaaannnndddd they didn’t have hollandaise sauce. It instead had a small ramekin of salad dressing. bluh. But it was a delicious breakfast despite the missing sauce I love so much. And they make a smooth cappuccino. The waitress was nice but not too visible so it was great to be able to sit and chat with my friend well after eating.

Hmmm… Like Andy T, I find Chez Nous a pleasant mystery. Yes, the name is clearly French, yet the staff and cuisine have a distinct Italian feel. Just to add to the confusion was the Country music playing, which when mixed with the overall vibe created a suspended sense of reality. The decidedly antique décor complete with wood panelling seems popular with the older generation who were dining on-mass. I believe with the affordable and well provisioned menu, once the word gets out, there may be a stampede to this place. I had a tasty tuna melt panini with the option of salad or chips for a reasonable £4.25. Main meals average out at around £7.50. The service, food, and décor are all great, and I will definitely be back to Chez Nous.

This place was the only place that we saw open on a monday night at 10:30 after a long day of sightseeing. We needed a coffee and dessert, and they were happy to provide! The waitresss was very sweet(something I have come to find surprising here in England) and brought us two fabulous desserts and a lovely coffee. Also, not too pricey, which was very nice!

One of the best Belsize breakfast joints and a personal favourite for me. Kind of like a fancy café but with bigger aspirations it seems and feels like it’s family owned and run. Chez Nous strikes a strange balance, French named and partly inspired but most people that go here seem to order predominantly British dishes. The décor also feels like it hasn’t been modified for about 20 years but frankly I’d be distraught if they changed it now… I’m not sure if the neon sign is/was meant to be cool but it’s feel very kitsch at night when you’re sitting with a coffee. Then Chez Nous feels more like an old café for locals. The breakfasts are great, just the right side of greasy and pretty huge for the money(about £6). The staff are also lovely and helpful. When it’s warm the main windows open out and there’s also tables outside for people watching. When it’s cold you can sneak in to a table away from the doors.

If you’re longing for something different than Starbucks & Co. where you can enjoy your everyday dose of coffee and even have some light meal, this place is a good choice for a change. It’s a petit café which attracts its customers with a French feeling, offering seats in a cozy inside and a bright outside with some tables on the pavement area of Belsize Park. If only the waitress could’ve spoken some French.
