I visited this place last weekend and I must say the food was quite good. The Korean chicken that I ordered as a first topping was amazing, both me and my boyfriend liked it. The beef that was my second topic was nothing special, but not bad — the same goes for the sweet and sour chicken. The portions were surprisingly big and we had a lot of leftovers to bring home. As a whole I would definitely go back to have more of that Korean chicken — really enjoyed it!

For the money, you can’t find a place that will serve you as much greasy American style Chinese food anywhere else nearby. This is by no means authentic Chinese food. Or even run by Chinese people. Rather, this is the kind of Chinese food you find in America that is cheap, greasy, and oh-so-satisfying! Sometimes you just need some Korean BBQ style chicken and lo mein noodles! If you go before 10pm(or 11– I can’t remember) you can get takeaway for between 5 and 7 pounds and the boxes are very good portions! But if you go after the 10/11pm time, you have to sit in with the food due to some licensing regulation. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone after a long day, picked up a box of food, went home, and devoured it in front the television. I wouldn’t go on a daily basis, or for a culinary experience, but that’s not what this kind of place is for. Sometimes you just need some sesame chicken. And wow this place delivers.

China Express has the bad good Chinese food you’ve been wanting. Get what I’m saying? Maybe not, but I come from a country where greasy, tasty Chinese food is preferred over authentic dishes. China Express gives me that food court low brow vibe I’ve been seeking in all my time in England! First and foremost, SESAMECHICKEN! OHGLORYDAY! Can’t believe I’m praising a Chinese food place for having sesame chicken, but I have shockingly not found ONE place that has this dish besides China Express. In America, EVERY place has sesame chicken. It is a staple of Chinese food. But in the UK it is available no where. Scour China town and find zero sesame chicken, seriously. So this place having the dish puts them on another level entirely. Second and secondmost, the prices are out of this world. Six pounds for more food than you could ever possibly finish in one helping. One serving could feed a third world country so much that it would become a second world country, POSSIBLYEVENFIRSTWORLD. Wow the portions are gigantic. You get three«sides»(which basically means three different types of chicken) PLUS rice for six quid. Can’t beat that!!! Third and thirdmost, it is a chill place to eat. It’s extremely clean and spacious. A huge group of people could fit in China Express and you’d still have tons of space. After a night of drinking, this is a fantastic place to crash and feed your ailing tummies. FORREAL. One thing fairly important to note is that China Express does not accept credit cards. This is a big bummer. With dishes so cheap I guess they can’t afford the charges. There is a Lloyds across the street, so with ATMs in the area you can get quick cash, so don’t worry. But it’s something to note! Overall you can’t go wrong at China Express. Sure it’s no fancy restaurant by any stretch, but it’s that stereotypical EXPRESS Chinese food you’ve been dying to get for cheap. So choose China Express for your drunk night on the town, you likely won’t regret it.
