Excellent shop! Amazing chocs, beautifully boxed for a gift and great traditional sweets that remind me of my childhood.
My son particularly likes their Gelato/​Ice Creams and they do great Coffee for Mums too!
A wonderful and unique shop great to see, among all the high street names we are flooded with these days.

It’s a great place to go if you’re looking for an unusual gift for a chocolate loving friend (chocolate pizzas etc). The hot chocolate is tasty but expensive, the staff are friendly and if you can get a seat inside (there are only about four stools) not a bad place to kill 10 mins. But really this is a chocolate shop, and they do that very well.

Chocodeli is a welcome addition to Upper Tachbrook Street, specialising in high-​quality chocolate, fudge and marzipan experiences. It’s also faintly Willy Wonka, with a model train set running constantly on a circuit of brass tracks suspended from the ceiling, alongside windmills and mock-​ups of chocolate bubbles.
The strengths of Chocodeli are the quality of its chocolate, fudge and marzipan and the passion of its staff. They stock a range of chocolate, including comedy items, such as the ‘Emergency chocolate’ bar, but it’s the high-​quality stuff you should come here for. Their award-​winning house chocolates are all about taste first and foremost, and though pricey (think £1 for a 2 cm by 0.5cm one), immediately show you a new and tantalising world of chocolate far beyond the cloying sugar and fat-​loaded efforts of Cadburys and Nestle. They also have chocolates from recognised British chocolatier Prestat, as well as various French makes. The experience of their fudge and marizpan is similar: flavour first, sweetness a distant second.
Chocodeli’s staff are also refreshingly friendly and passionate about their product and mission. They’re more than happy to introduce you to their products and, catch them at the right time, free samples.
The aspects of Chocodeli I’m less keen on are the ice cream they sell and their somewhat cheeky repackaging of cheap sweets into fancy bags. I don’t see the point of the latter: if I want one penny sweets or liquorice allsorts I’ll go to the supermarket thanks, not pay over the odds for exactly the same goods at a specialist sweet shop. As for the ice cream, though Chocodeli flirted with greatness briefly by selling the fabulous Oddono’s ice-​cream (a fact they still erroneously advertise on their website) unfortunately the owner has decided to replace it with an inferior alternative because that was apparently more in line with her vision for the shop. Quite possibly, but the stir that their decision to originally stock Oddono’s caused across the Internet surely shows the strength of the market for it. It’s certainly reduced the frequency of my visits here.
Overall then, worth dropping by if you like your confectionery high-​quality and served with enthusiasm. Also worth occasionally checking to see if they’ve decided to re-​stock Oddono’s, a move that would likely see me re-​grade this review to 5.

Lovely chocolate shop selling all kinds of luxury and novelty chocs, macarons, sweets and ice creams. We treated ourselves to a couple of velvety hot chocolates to stave off the nip outside. Would highly recommend the caramel flavour. Chocolate pizzas look lush. Not the cheapest shop, but great place to pick up a special present for someone with a sweet tooth.

Schon beim reinkommen hat mich der Laden verzaubert! Überall leckere Süßigkeiten, viele bunte Farben und dann auch noch ein kleine Zug der über uns lang fuhr und kleine Süßigkeiten geladen hatte. Ein wundervoller Laden für große und kleine Schleckermäuler!
Neben einem breiten Sortiment an diversen Schokoladensorten in verschiedenen Formen (Tafeln, Pralinen, Crème…) gibt es auch ein großes Angebot an Fruchtgummi und Lollis. Desweiteren kann man dort auch leckeres Eis kaufen!
Die Preise waren erschwinglich was auch meinen Geldbeutel freut :]
Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert für jeden der es gerne süß mag!

Really nice, cute little sweets, chocolates and ice cream shop (Oddono’s ice cream). Check out the moving toy train below the ceiling! Lovely addition to the area. Not expensive. Nice little treat.
