Now called Seema Tandoori, since the name change, the food seems much nicer. The«Chef’s Recommendations» are good. Nice wines. The private dining room downstairs has also been given a spruce, where it was once sparse and bare, and very cold, the walls have been painted and a few prints put up and new chairs put in, and there is heating, so much warmer! The main dining area on the ground floor is small and cosy. The service is quiet and adequate. Hidden gem under the Holborn Viaduct bridge, near Farringdon Station.

At last I got to eat at this long standing restaurant opposite my place(The PlumTree) under Holborn Viaduct. It always seems to be pretty busy in the evenings, and indeed it filled up and tables turned while we were there so I don’t think you always need a reservation, certainly I did not see any cards. The main room is quite small, but we did not feel crowded and there was a good atmosphere going. The staff were observant helpful and in control. We were offered poppadums & they came very quickly while we settled down with excellent dips. The menu has a lot of favourites and a good selection of new to me(if not daring) dishes. I tried one of the specialities and found it quite well spiced though a little gentle, without being hot. It was prepared specially as were the other dishes that we chose, all of which were good. Rice was excellent. As it was a simple meal over a meeting only Cobra was drunk, so I have no idea about wines served, I will try to find out for later. So a useful to know about and enjoyable place to eat.
