I used Local Cleaners Clapham a second time around I hoped things would be better. My previous experience left me with a voucher and since I was moving house the old place needed cleaning too. Learning from my previous experience I booked the first job of the day in the morning to avoid extreme delays. I called and specifically stated that I had a 4 bedroom house that needed cleaning to include carpets, windows and the works. Due to timing the window services would take place 2 days later which I understood. Cleaning day comes(same guy but now has a helper) we go through the areas and yet again there’s a discrepancy from my phone agreement and his orders on paper. Phone conversation back to the office(again in another language) and the office calls me. ‘Hello sir, the cost will be an additional 20 for the area you didn’t tell us about.’ Imagine my frustration(cartoon image of man’s face turning red, ears shooting steam and eyes bulging) yes, that was me. I responded with ‘I told you in detail what I needed and even offered the floor plan, measurement and photos just to make sure we didn’t have a repeat situation of your service failure the last time I booked you. In addition I find it also interesting that this extra cost is exactly the amount of the voucher you’ve given me from the last time I used your services.’ More empty apologies and waiting to hear from the manager etc as before. Alas same offer as before with another gift voucher but no discount on the service being done. Exhausted with these folks I agreed to accept it and then said ‘ok I’ve got window cleaning with you 2 days from now and want to apply that voucher to the service’ to which they said ‘oh I’m sorry that’s not possible, the voucher we’ll give you is only good for newly scheduled services and not existing ones.’ Utterly shocked and amazed by the audacity of these people I said ‘wow, ok I’d like to cancel my next service and I’ll rebook using the voucher or you can just apply that and make it easy for both of us.’ The lady then said ‘Oh I’m sorry we cannot do that because the voucher is only good for domestic cleaning and not window cleaning and we’re prepared to send you our best cleaner and best equipment on the next services you book with us.’ Now angry and a little confused by the ‘we’ll send you our best next time’ as if I had somehow selected lower quality service and equipment request. In the end I requested cancellation of their services. Suddenly they were willing to talk about a discount, ‘we’ll send our best team and equipment’ surfaced yet again however I was simply DONE with them. She ended the call by saying ‘if you change your mind please call back as this is the best offer you’ll find’ which I found somewhat odd and doubtful. The second promised gift voucher never arrived. This American Southerner feels ‘taken to the cleaners’ by Local Cleaners Clapham and I do declare as y’all are my witness I’ll never use them again.
