The Cobbled Yard is indeed cobbled, it’s also a great little find for reasonably priced antique furniture in the area. No I’m not just talking second-hand here, I’m saying proper vintage pieces that have been properly restored and the like. Wandering down the high street you’d be forgiven for missing this place but you really shouldn’t. It’s two large rooms of rummaging pleasure. Pieces start from as little as £20 and go up into the hundreds. You can even buy an old tube station sign for £600 — although it’s only Ruislip! They also had a wonderfully kept chaise lounge for about £300, which is better than the going rate for them on ebay. The owner obviously has a real eye and if you want to kit your home out with something a little special, you can’t do better in the area.

well what a find ! this place is simply like discovering a secret treasure chest… its publicity does not do it justice. this is so much more than an antiques warehouse or a second hand furniture shop. i defy anyone to come out of there without finding something that appeals, whatever you’re into, be it retro, vintage, antique, church pews, pine furniture, doors, chests .its just rammed full of unusual items. the last reviewer mentioned that its overpriced and i’d disagree on that point. the price tag seems to always reflect the rarity of the item. you try finding a pitch pine gun cupboard from the boer war, and then put a price tag on it!!! enough said, this place is a great find. i’m a fan and i recommend it to anyone who wanted original classy items in their house. i believe the people at cobbled yard will be operating online soon, result! so you wont even have to move from the comfort of your own laptop to discover the treasures.(though like watching a show’ live’ or on dvd its not the same experience is it now?) still, happy hunting !

It is really interesting to rummage around in this second hand store which has now got a sibling across the road(the cobbled yard 2 I believe) The cobbled yard sells second hand furniture, household objects and decorative artefacts. Some of the stuff is great and really interesting but I must admit some of it is quite ugly and overpriced. I found that some of the things would be cheaper to buy new and unless it is something really special the prices are a bit high. Definitely worth a visit if you need a few quirky features for your home.
