Nice unpretentious local wine bar. Ambiance is more like a pub, with wooden tables and plenty of groups chatting. Not sure why an earlier tipster said that they dislike Americans: we didn’t have a single problem. The wine selection was good, prices were reasonable, and we had a nice coze in the back. Would return.

Eine schöné Weinauswahl und lange Öffnungszeiten. Leider eher Pub Atmosphäre. Es ist sehr laut und eng auf den vielen Stehplätzen.

Great for a late night drink when no one else will give you a look in ! Not been in the day time always looks very quiet. The downside to going so late is the clientele and the fact that it can get really busy as anyone who hasn’t managed to enter another establishment or who doesn’t want to go home ends up here, so you can make your own mind up about who you may end up drinking with. Nice little place and nice staff.

I have never been to a bar like this before. When I hear ‘wine bar’ I think of a shiny modern bar with people who think they are extremely sophisticated quaffing and prattling about noses and palettes. This is not at all like that. Ramshackle in appearance, this is so different and so good for being that way. I’m not much of a wine drinker but were I thus(and if I lived near Ealing) this would be where you would find me. In fact if you are a wine drinker then just add a mental star to my rating. I drank something red… with a nose

A proper wine bar, not your identi-kit ‘wine’ bars that I do not need to promote here. I went a few Saturdays ago and there was a young chap playing the piano and an old-fashioned sing-along happend! How often do you see that in pubs and bars now! The atmosphere is brilliant, regulars who seem fun and engaging without the usual aloofness of patrons at other wine bars. The wine list itself was eclectic yet engaging, and there was beer and cider for our party who weren’t wine fans. It really is an amazing little bar for those not seeking noise and commotion in Ealing Broadway.

It’s shameful that it took me so long to make it to Crispins, despite living in the neighbourhood for years. It’s just my sort of place. Taht is, friendly, independent, slightly seedy, different, interesting, and a place for sitting and talking. It’s showing its years, but in a way that adds character. Not fancy in any way, it reminds me of bars in France. It’slived in. It’s pricipally a wine bar, and there are several type of white and red wine available by the bottle and the glass. Champagne, kir, bottled beer, and soft drinks are also available. There are a few tables for four, a couple for two, stools at the bar, a round window seat for four, and some booths in the back. There are, oddly, two pianos — not sure if they’re just for show. There’s unlikely to be anyone in here under the age of 25. It’s a place for chatting, for speculating, for catching up with old friends. The music is from a stack of CDs behind the bar and was an excellent mix of pop and soul last night. I’m going to spend a lot of time in this bar to make up for the years I’ve been missing it.

Crispins isn’t your smooth, stylised, psedo-arty, used to be a bank wine bar, but has a more authentic, rough-round-the-edges feel. It is all the better for this. They have a decent selection of wines, and a few beers too. The people there are quite friendly, and don’t worry if not everyone in your party fancies wine — I’m sure I saw somebody bring in a pint of Guinness from the pub next door one time. They do food as well, but I’ve not tried it. Crispins is a good place to get a night started, but it is also a good place to stay all night. If there’s a bunch of you, go into Crispins, plonk yourself around a table, and a few bottles later you’ll have solved the world’s problems.
