This is a great little greasy spoon in the Nunhead area serving up an international array of food — everything from beans and fried bread to curry. I visited with friends for a much needed dirty(in the best way) breakfast one hazy Sunday morn… afternoon. Went for one of the Full English options(there are several variations to choose from, you can basically build your own brekkie), which included bacon, sausage, beans, fried mushrooms, fried egg and a fried slice and was really generous. Not bad for £5.00 something, including a drink. Although intrigued by the thought of the Sunday roast options, I decided to give them a miss. The Café has a diner crossed with takeaway feel, with characteristic greying images of the dishes on the menu up on the walls. However, early afternoon on a Sunday it was really busy. The service was really friendly and speedy.

A hangover cure in a wipe-down melamine disguise. A greasy-spoon café that is probably about as good as you can expect. Lots of variations on the classic English Breakfast and the portions are more than generous. If you have walked in here, you aren’t expecting a top notch restaurant, so there shouldn’t be any surprises about décor, food options or the clientele this place attracts. Elbow your way past builders, truck drivers, gas fitters and the odd person suffering from the excesses from the night before(I have been that person many a time in here) and you will be greeted by decent staff, very reasonable prices and a big, clean, white plate of well-cooked greasy goodness(not too greasy either, just the right amount). I have an unhealthy penchant for this place actually.
