Customer service skills is very poor. Untrained staff, staff who are not very knowledgeable and do not know what they are talking about. All they want is your money! Do your own research before you buy products.

Super unpleasant experience buying a laptop. We saw a PC laptop advertised on special at £200 off the usual price. We went in and quickly found what we wanted but had a really stressful experience trying to buy it — the sales attendant continuously tried to upsell us additional add-ons, and made us feel as though we didn’t buy all the extras she was pitching to us we would essentially be walking out with a paperweight. She pressured us into buying stuff we didn’t really want or need and made us feel harassed. We had to be really insistent on what we wanted and walked out feeling really vulnerable and not confident in our purchase — precisely the opposite of how you should feel when you’ve made a major purchase. I told her that we felt the promotion was misleading if to have a usable laptop we needed to buy all these add-ons. She obviously was getting a commission and didn’t care an awful lot that we were finding the whole encounter quite stressful. So funny, because all we ever hear is retailers boo-hoo-hooing about how no one wants to shop in their stores — well it’s because they make it so goddamn unpleasant and foster the exact environment where you feel ripped off! Big black mark, would not recommend.

Customer service is very poor, they don’t have any manner. How to to talk the customer. I ask one of the customer assistant what’s the different between AMD and Intel processor, he said expensive one is better. F. k off

Not really great, quite expensive and over priced on some things, seemed odd to me considering their buying power for example, i wanted a tripod and some accessories and found the exact same tripod in my usual independant store in Hitchin to be half the price, and they even delivered it to me on the same day. Saved myself a lot of money by NOT buying into this big chain store, even if they do have a couple of good deals.

2 stars = meh, I’ve experienced better. Debatable as far as computer shops go… * Why is it when I walk into a PC world and there are a million staff standing around doing nothing, not one of them offers to help me despite it being very clear that I don’t know which bloody cable I need? This PC world used to be next door to a Curry’s. They’ve now gone and knocked through to create one giant PC world/Curry’s MEGASTORE. What sort of megastore doesn’t have the thingy that goes on the end of my projector cable to link it up to my laptop*? Not a very mega megastore, if you ask me. *Apart from the Apple store from which I have bought absolutely nothing, but instead just drool over the merchandise. They always want to help me in there. **They may have the thingy but, as noone was rushing to help me and I couldn’t get anyone’s attention, I’ll never know.

Customer service continually seems to be lacking in this store. Firstly trying to find a staff member is like trying to spot the lone survivor of an endangered species. Once you find someone they always look as if they are too busy to help you. I wonder if they actually want to sell anything. The store itself is large with a lot of choice on electrical goods. Price wise Curry’s are pretty good, although still more expensive than internet shopping. My advice is use the Curry’s website to reserve an item, then pick it up in your local store. This works out cheaper than just buying in person without reserving.

ahh PCWORLD. lets see. i likes the place. i was very pleased when it was opened. the selection is a little limited. and they dont really cater for any top spec hardware. but what they do have is average products for an average price. The staff seem to lack a little for me. being somewhat of a computer nerd. i wanted to know specific things about the computer i was buying. and no one seemed to know.(kind of like asking where the fish was caught in a fish restaurant). i also felt pressured to buy things i didnt want. like norton, or Insurance, or an all in one printer! Which i did buy, just to shut the salesboy up.

When I was after a new computer system I went here to purchase it after seeing many of the PC World adverts on the TV and in the papers. They do tend to have some good bargains, particularly at the start of school term time and in the January sales each year. Another thing I liked was that I could compare 3 different models together in one place that I was interested in. Also the staff were on hand to offer help when I was trying to make a choice. Overall, very good prices and they are open to some negotiation on the price if you need to barter.
