Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens; Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens; Brown paper packages tied up with strings; These are a few of my favorite things… Dahlia has the rest of my favorite things. I liked everything in this store! They had very pretty dresses, tops, skirts, and accessories. Their accessories were my favorite! The entire store is adorable, beautifully yet simply decorated. It’s chic without trying. When I asked about a website, they said they sell their clothing but not their accessories on the website. Hopefully that changes soon! I would love to order some cute rings and headbands from them!

I was strolling through Carnaby Street before catching the bus when I stumbled across this lovely little shop down an alley. Supposedly the designer is British and began selling her pieces on Portobello Road ten years ago. The shop is brightly lit, small and very quaint. I found the Dahlia collection to be rather vintage-inspired, with precise tailoring feminine details. The quality of the pieces are very good and I feel like the price point is fair. There also is a section of vintage pieces in the shop, all in wonderful condition. I found the service to be great as well, my salesgirl was quite attentive and gave me her advice when I was conflicted between two vintage 1950s dresses I had selected. She asked for my contact information so she could ring me when they got in a trench I was eyeing earlier that had sold out straight away. Also, she said she would let me know when the shop got in their next vintage shipment. Overall, wonderful and very genuine customer service. I look forward to what the Dahlia shop has in store for F/W 2010 and I will be back in the shop very soon.

Not much has been done to a great standard in the shop itself. Having said that, the wallpaper and the mirror in the dressing room feels quite homely. The shop is quite cutting edge in what they offer, the emphasis on shape and cut and are amongst the freshest themes out there, there is always an interesting cut to look out for at Dahlia’s. Attention to detail is essential, buttons, pockets, stitching and lining. For instance, I fell in love with one of their new season sailor coats, with red buttons and navy backdrop, the lining in silk and printed red stars. Unfortunately, the shape was a bit to frumpy for my height but I can see it being worn by a specific kind of woman amazingly! I encountered the same problem with other outfits, it was such a shame. Their clothes won’t fit everyone, but you never know; one of their vintage type, fun cut dresses might fit you perfectly.

The other two reviews have described tehis shop as sweet and sorry for sounding unoriginal but Dahlia is sweet. I LOVELOVELOVE this shop, the staff are always very friendly. Call me naïve but when they compliment me on something I’ve tried on I genuinely believe them. Whenever I’m in the are Dahlia is a must even it’s just for window shopping when I either do not have the time to browse or I’ve just spent a loney on something else. It’s not that the prices are ridiculously expensive but the problem is that I always want more than one thing. I blame the staff for showing me something that ‘would look great on me’ because I have to try really convincing myself that I don’t yet another dress in my already bulging wardrobe. at the moment I got my eye on the orange pussy bow coat and the navy military funnel neck coat.

What a sweet store! They took care of every detail and made the most of the tiny space. The clothes are quirky, fun, and trendy. I love the way they displayed in the store some outfits with clever styling, they really made me want to buy the complete look they suggested on one of the walls, but my pocket couldn’t afford it, luckily they also have some fun accessories that where perfect for my budget, I got a cool gold ring that had an angel wing with some bling on it. The prices are reasonable throughout £60 for a trench coat and my ring was £13, also the girl that helped me was very kind and helpful.

The flagship store on Fouberts Place is a very sweet little store, with pretty delicate floral wallpaper and whitewashed dressers placed strategically around the place as it it were someone’s dressing room, which is I supposed the whole effect the label is trying to give off. The clothes in there are very nice, Dahlia itself is a small label that is slowly expanding and there are lots of nice pieces that it sells albeit for a rather nice hefty price too. I like the way the store is laid out and the staff are very helpful and friendly, and some of their things are affordable. It has quite a peaceful feel too it, very classy and classic yet quirky.
