I like to order some of their pasta dishes for lunch in general. I have tried a few options and I liked the tagliolini with prawns pasta special. I ordered a lasagna once but it was not really good. They have nice risottos as well.

The food I had at De Santis was 3 star worthy: the service, 5 star. Needing dinner before heading home, it was either this or Pizza Express. Having dinner on De Santis’ outside terrace with the rest of its clientel watching World Cup football was definitely preferable to a solitary pizza, but there didn’t seem to be a space. No problem said the manager, I’ll bring you a table. Minutes later I was part of the seated throng. sipping a limonata and watching Spain tumble out of the tournament to the delight of increasingly vocal Chile fans. The lasagne was average, the tiramisu slightly better. But the service shown by the manager made all the difference between this being simply a fuel stop, and an evening to remember. Salute!

A fantastic Italian resturant that is an ideal setting as a point for casual work meetings for surround office workers. The staff at the nearby SCIN Gallery, of which I represent, frequently use this place to order ideal food and exemplary service. They did a fantastic job of catering for huge numbers of the gallery’s opening night during London Design Festival, and it wouldn’t have been the success it was without their professionalism and beautiful food. P. S. The head chief, Enzo, is a real Italian gent, so he knows how the food should taste

Essential eating has to happen at lunch time, and if you want a proper sit down meal in the Farringdon/Clerkenwell area you’ll be pushed to find something that won’t cost you and arm and a leg. They you have De Santis, Yup, I’m stilling this FTR from the others as I have held my lips shut for long enough. I think this place is fabulous. Fresh and tasty home made food that is served up by happy yet not always competent staff. Saying that, I did really like it. it’s independent, family run and have a variety of specials that change daily. What’s not to like?
