So a white girl walks into Dee Afro Beauty Palace.
Shopkeeper: Can I help you with anything?
Me: How much are your wigs?
Shopkeeper: around £19−20.
Me: [flabbergasted] Can I try some on?
Shopkeeper: Sure.
Now, I’ve purchased a Hot Hair wig from Selfridges in the past, and it cost me over £50. And it was the CHEAPEST wig I could find at the time. The wigs from Dee Afro Beauty Palace weren’t necessarily of as good quality as the Hot Hair wig I own, but, when I say ‘not as good’, I mean the Hot Hair wig has a marginally better texture. Certainly, for the £30 price difference, the wigs at Dee Afro Beauty Palace presented a FANTASTIC value.
If you see a white girl with an amazingly soft, loose, curly afro walking around the streets of London, say hello to me.
