My favourite all round restaurant in London(Toresano) was a, now closed, tapas restaurant. And I miss it. Lots. Not least because it was within walking distance of my front door. So while pug sitting for my best friend recently, I gave Don Pepe a shot. In short, I really liked it! I hasten to add that it is not quite as good as the dearly departed Toresano, but if you want quality tapas at a reasonable price, look no further than Don Pepe. The house red was pretty good. The chicken with garlic was excellent. The gambas ajillo was excellent but a fairly small portion. The calamari was great. The service was lovely and gave off a ‘family’ vibe. All in all, I was won over and I shall look forward to returning to Don Pepe very soon!

I need to be very careful about what this restaurant brings to my life because it is not just about Spanish tapas which you may get anywhere in London nowadays. I think it is a flavour of the family, truly an environment of family too. I meet with my business partner every other month brings in an usual party size of 10 – 15 who are working in different areas in the City. We never bothered to order but always say ‘feed us, please’. Then the food will just keep coming and coming and coming till the chef come to check if we are still starving as kids. I always thought it was my partner who set the order, and she thought the same. The best value of this place is a sense of family that someone will always take care of you when you are hungry, cold and tired. Someone will always be there no matter how late, no matter how moody or how noisy we were. There are always someone gently behind you, smile and waiting. The extra ingredient they added in there is love, that’s why it is special. If you never been there before, you might never make effort to go. It is a place of memory belong to the people who life nearby. And you will never review your grandmother’s food, it is unconditional!

Absolute the nicest place you could choose to have some nice, typical Spanish tasting tapas. The owners are still original related to the ones who opened this great place! I been there during the week. It was very relaxed. Even tables on the terrace abailable… I can imagine it might be busy on the weekends, but soooo lovely!!!
